There are several inconveniances with this Hotle! And non of them are written in Back And White when you commit to such a highly expensive stay. The Front desk staff leaves at 9:00 Therefore if you have a late arrival there is no one to assist you with your needs what so ever!

I was coming from out of town and needed assistance getting to the hotel! The front dest man said tough your key is in a lock box that's all I'll do for you. Because of this I was unable to make it to the hotel. I was only an hour away but no one offered me assistance is getting there what so ever. I called the manager and he said tough. Because of this neglagence and rudeness I had to stop and stay at a different hotel so that I may find my way in the morning.

So I paid to stay in this rediculously expensive hotel ahead of time and because of them I was unable to make it. They are completly unwilling to offer me any compensation what so ever. So I spent an ungodly amount of money to stay at that hotel only to have to spend more on a different one! And they have complete disregard for their patrons!

Mapquest and directions...

Yes, I agree that mapquest is not always accuarate. Sometimes they tell you to take a left when its a right Regardless of that, you can still get to where you are going using mapquest. For example, if mapquest is telling me to take a left on Maple and I can only take a right, then I know they are a bit confused. So I take a right and I still get to where I'm going. Or maybe I can take a left but after driving a few minutes I realize I'm going in the wrong direction so I turn around and go the opposite way and get to where I am going. BTW: The directions on the company's website look very simple.

You didn't answer the questions about why you didn't stop and ask for directions if you really could not find the place. And I stated that I found it doubtful that the desk literally said to you "TOUGH" when you called. You made no response to that either.

I don't have a 4 year degree in the hotel biz like your husband, but I'm willing to be that with or without that degree or experience that your husband is going to think that you deserve compensation. Unfortunately, its not for him to decide.

My opinion:

If this place is really that hard to find and there were no businesses open to ask for directions (the hotel you stopped at, couldn't they direct you??)and the desk clerk really said Tough, I ain't gonna give you directions, if all that REALLY happened, then I think that you are due a refund for the night's stay that you paid to the other hotel. BUT, I have my doubts about your story. I just find it hard to believe that between mapquest and asking for directions that you could not find the place. And I further find it hard to believe that the desk clerk told you TOUGH. He may have exhibited an uncaring attitude (I don't know, I wasn't there) but I find it hard to believe he literally said Tough. There are details missing from this story, I think. At any rate, good luck with your refund request.

takes personal guidance

#9Author of original report

For clarification! I had a map. I had written directions from Map quest! I came prepared! Telluride CO Is extremely difficult to get to, and it actually takes personal guidance, especially in the dark to get there. It is extremely mountainous! I needed to be pointed in the correct direction and assured I was going the correct way. Map quest is not always correct, I know from personal experience! Furthermore my Husband works in this industry, in fact had a Bachelors in Hotel Restaurant Management. He even has worked in a very similar situation, (resort difficult to get to and in a mountainous area) When he heard what had gone on he immediately told me I should receive compensation.

You were an hour away from the property and you expect them to guide you there? Excuse me? If you were an hour away, you weren't even in the same city. What happened to using a map? Planning your trip in advance? I have requested assistance in locating a property after arriving in the destination city and encountering construction, but never while an hour away.

Something is not right here.

I'm curious....

Number one: why didn't you stop off somewhere and ask for directions? Weren't there any businesses open, i.e. a gas station, restaurant, store, etc where you could have asked for a map and/or asked for directions? Beyond that, why didn't you secure directions to the hotel before arriving?

Number Two: did you not proofread your posting before you hit send? Your "report" is so riddled with spelling errors that it potentially distracts from your actual complaint itself. I mean really, did you not read over what you wrote before you hit send?

P.S. I checked this place out on the web and they are advertised as an "economy" Inn. Additionally, on their website there is a big box on the left that says "click for directions".

As far as the staff leaving at 9:00, I am not sure what to think about that. The website does not indicate that, at least from what I read over (granted I did not study it in detail so it may state it somewhere). Personally, I would have assumed there was someone on staff all night. I have a time-share and I know when I go to a property that most likely there will not be someone around after 6:00 or 7:00 at night. I don't get the impression that this is a timeshare, so yeah, I'm surprised to read the entire staff, save a security guy, leaves at 9:00. I'm ever more surprised (and feeling a little doubtful) that the front desk guy told you "tough" when you asked for directions.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents.
