Telular Corporation TELGUARD, Sold 3 Year Contract and was promised what was in their pamphlet and they did not hold up their end Chicago, Illinois

I was sold a three year contract of service for TELGUARD to monitor and report via Cell Phone service attached to my current home security system. I was given a pamphlet that described how it worked and that it would be able to be controlled by my Blackberry / iPhone device. They offered three various forms of control: Arm/Arm Stay/Disarm.

I contacted the company and they told me that only two of the three (Arm/Disarm) were functioning and that the third function would be up and running within a month. Three months later they decided NOT to implement the "Arm Stay" feature which was a primary decision in signing the contract. This was because it provided additional protection while at home or away from home.

I like the service, yet when I was promised a specific product with specific functions, I feel as if I was mislead and deceived by the company/representatives. In the email I sent to the company, they responded with the fact my concerns were forwarded to the proper departments. It seems as if the department decided to pull the plug on the development of the remote control application for some reason, without providing any of it's customers any notice of change.

I think if a company sells a product with a contract of service (with an informational pamphlet describing all the functions it will provide,) they should be obligated to fulfill their end of this contract since as a end user I am required to pay the bill.

AppleDesigner,

I saw this message appear in a Google News update and I thought I would offer you the opportunity to contact me directly about your issue.  I will clarify for this post's future readers that we do not sign contracts with end-users.  We have month-to-month contracts with security dealers that use our products within their own business.  These products are at times used to carry out the protection offered in their own contracts between the end-user and themselves.  In no way do we have a contract, real or implied, with any end-user.

Any concern about your contract will have to be taken up with the security dealer that you signed it with.

Nevertheless, if you would like to discuss your concerns about the feature in question please contact Shawn at six-seven-eight-two-six-four-two-zero-zero-four.  I generally screen my calls so please leave your name and number and reference to this site and I will call you back.

I will not conduct a correspondence through this site other that this initial offer.

I look forward to hearing from you.
