Tenancy Bureau false offer, non refund, lack of service, liar internet Nationwide

   I had a bad tenant rent my house...bad checks, midnight move etc. Tenancy Bureau offers on their site of you become a preium member they will go after the person to get the $ as well as report it to the credit companies as collections. 

I contacted them in Jan 2014. Paid the membership, registered the person as well as enetered all the costs I incurred for her move. 

I start contacting them as no one contacts me to confirm all of the info. I send more information and finally reach someone.  In July this is what I got back.

My name is Richard, and I represent the collection team here at Tenancy Bureau. This message is being sent in response to the inquiry we received regarding the account Lxxxxxx
First and foremost, we express our deepest apologies to you for any frustrations you have experienced.
I can confirm that your debt collection file is in process and we are using all legal means to successfully recover all debts from tenant. However this process may take some time and we will inform you as soon as we will have any information about your debt collection file.
Right now tenant Jennifer xxxxxx is registered on High Risk tenant list that is published worldwide.
Not only is this list available to Landlords and Tenants but to Employers and all others performing an online name search.
All information and documents were submitted to our partner licence collection agency that will update all major credit reporting agencies with this collection file and you should be able to view the status of the collection process at my account page by clicking TENANT DEBT COLLECTION icon.

Please understand that you can use any other collection system at the same time you are using Tenancy Bureau debt collection system, but you will have to notify us if you will recover any debts through other collection agencies.

Premium membership offers many useful tools and is not just about Tenant debt collection option and unfortunately, Tenancy Bureau does not have a refund policy for premium membership fee.

This becomes a farce because I have to keep following up and even tell them I am going to go public on social media because I had been told the person had NEVER been contacted by any collection agency on my behalf at all.

 

Taking to Robert at Tenancy Bureau, he advised he would speaak to that department and get back to me. RIGHHHHHHHHHHHT. I never happened. I stil kept the emails...and I couldn't get a refund from them either.

Lesson learned and hopefully people will stay away from  Tenancy Bureau completely.
