Complaint Review: Tennessee Sumner County Towing

Tennessee Sumner County Towing - General Towing Co.These These people do have a habit of making excuses to put you off so that your storage fees will soar. Especially if they know you cannot afford to pay them. They kept and sold my car. Were rude, unresponsive and lied blatantly about what was going on. Some day, some one will get past the legalities that they hide behind and they are going to end up being on the other end like we are. Hendersonville Tennessee

I can sympathize with this woman about losing her car. They have a habit of using the law to work around being able to put you off until fees are too high for you to pay. This is not the first time this particular company has done this. The thing that upsets me is that the police dept. in Hendersonville continue to use these people. One of these days someone will be able to get around the legalities that this company hides behind. The husband does the dirty work and the wife covers it up. They are dishonest people running a dishonest business. Do not use them. If they can find a way to keep your car they will.

I first used this company a few years ago when my wife wrecked our car. The Sumner County Sheriffs Dept. contacted them after my vehicle went off the road and into a revine. I have never seen any wrecker driver be as careful with a car, especially one that was already wrecked. My car was rolled over and the driver (I later found out he was the owner of the company) recovered my car without causing anymore damage. The deputy on scene even commented on how the other companies do not recover vehicles like this guy does. My car was towed to their lot and I did not have full coverage insurance. I did the right thing and paid the bill with their storage charges, and then sold it for scrap to a junk yard myself. They picked it up from their lot and gave me a check for $125. My bill was more than that, but it was the right and honest thing to do to pay the guy for the work he did. I have used them ever since, and i would recommend them to anyone. They are honest and fair, and i would never use anyone else. I actually found this info by searching for another company. My mom had a car impounded because she was parked somewhere and her car got towed. that company did not follow the laws and towed it without even a signature authorizing the car to be towed. There are a lot of companies like that and they should be the ones people complain about. Companies that do not follow the law. They are the dishonest ones. but not this company. They are great. people should just pay their bills and if they cant, they should not be mad that their cars get sold. This guy is just trying to run an honest business. I have used them about 6 times in the last couple of years and i have recommended them to friends and family.

Thanks,

We do NOT want your vehicle.........

Again, I reiterate - we do NOT ever, under any circumstances, want anyone's vehicle. We are not the cause or reason that the vehicle was towed in. We did NOT cause the wreck, force you to abandon it on the side of the road, or cause the breakdown. Just as every other towing company - we have daily storage charges that are applied to every vehicle towed into our lot. These are standard charges, and are the same for EVERY vehicle that is towed in. If you are not familiar with the normal practices and procedures of having a vhicle towed in and stored in a towing company's lot - that is not our fault. You should ask questions.

In each and every situation in which a vehicle has been towed in, we ALWAYS answer any and all questions as to charges honestly and truthfully. For those individuals who wish to ask questions at an accident scene as to charges, those questions will NOT be able to be answered until the driver has had a chance to figure the bill. If a vehicle has been wrecked, as opposed to a normal tow, there are things to consider such as winching, clean-up, whether it was a rollover, water recovery, any special equipment used, time on scene, additional trucks or drivers, etc. And, we have different standard towing charges for different police entities. If you ask about storage charges - you will be informed immediately - even on a wreck scene. Those charges are the same across the board for ALL customers / vehicles.

We simply want people to pay the legitimate charges incurred in removing your vehicle from a wreck scene, and any applicable storage charges. Period. We do not put your vehicle in the position of needing to be towed, we simply clean up the aftermath and mess. We do not ever, under any circumstances, want a vehicle to be left unclaimed with us. It is not worth it in the end, and we usually lose a considerable amount of money on each vehicle we have to sell.
