BEWARE BUYER! Ridiculous shipping fees. Several months ago I made some purchases with a Tokyo-based e-commerce proxy sales group called Buyee. At first things seemed relatively safe. This was during the peak of Covid and many different limitations were place on shipping. However, things started to get on my nerves recently. You see, I've been getting spammed left and right by buyee claiming that I still owe them money for the shipping fees on items that were canceled.

"The free storage period of this package will end soon as our free storage period is 30 days. Please note from the 31st day, storage extension fee will be charged every day. We recommend you to arrange for shipment at your earliest convenience. If you do not wish to ship out your package, you may choose to "dispose" the package from your [My Page].

However, please also note that you will still be charged the domestic shipping fee, consumption tax and other optional service fees including extension fee even if you dispose your package."

Apparently, by winning an auction, you are contractually obligated to pay for the storage AND shipping fees associated with that auction, regardless of whether or not you arrange for said shipping or protection in their warehouse.

"Thank you for using Buyee.

As stated in our previous notifications, the below mentioned package has not been processed for international shipping yet. Since your package has been stored at our warehouse for more than 90 days without being processed to international shipping fee payment, we have disposed of this item with regard to the article 16 in the Terms of Service.

We will not accept any request for refund of any charges that you already paid for the item. We are sorry if there is any caused inconvenience, and your understanding will be greatly appreciated."

Keep in mind this auction was in May, and they are reminding me of this in September. Disposal took place on 9/16/21. Here's the kicker, despite the actual proof that I disposed of this package, the fees remain on a product that has an auction page that no longer exists. They don't care about their mistake However, due to their BS customer service practices, they wish to charge me for it anyway. Unfortunately, in the end, I did pay before the storage time limit was up. Please beware Buyee in the future. It cost me almost 50 dollars to dispose of these packages. Will not be using them in future.
