When my mother and I went to Teppermans, the service was great, until we had a problem. She purchased a new living room set and a new washing machine. After paying $20 extra on top of the delivery charge for them to set the purchases up in her home, they hooked the water lines up wrong on the washer, so her rinse cycle was in hot water. When she walked into the laundry room, it was like a sauna! She phones the store, and was told they were not responsible for what their delivery people do. She contacted the head office, and was only offered a $10 rebate.

I purchased a new living room set and bookcase. After waiting 3 weeks for the delivery, the driver pulled up, knocked on the door and informed me that the furniture would not fit through the door, without even unloading anything. He told me there was no way to take the backs off, and the furniture should be sold only to homes that have a patio or oversized door. I went right to Teppermans, asked them why they wouldn't tell me that when I purchased it, and was told "It's not our responsibility to tell customers about oversized furniture." When I asked for a refund on my purchase, they refused, saying I would have to come back the next day. I explained I lived across the city from the store and was leaving the next morning to go out of town for the weekend, and besides, I didn't have the furniture! No good. Even after contacting the head office, no one ever got back to me, so back across the city I had to go again the next day.

When I was waiting to get my money back the next morning, a man came in complaining that his dining room set was just delivered, minus one chair. Another couple just bought a new T.V., and it wasn't working anymore. I wish I had heard all of this while in the store purchasing the furniture.

Luckily, I stopped on the way home at Sutherlands furniture, was given a great deal, and it was delivered 2 days later. One week after that, I recieved a thank you card from Sutherlands for my business.
