I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT NONE at PRESTIGE (from the owners, builders, assemblers, sales, insurance, customer care, warranty to the CONTRACTORS) CARE about the consumers and just simply train there workers to ridicule, laugh, legally rip off and SELL YOU A LESS THEN FINE QUALITY MANUFACTURED HOME (GARBAGE and also the contractors used are HORRIFIC) at which they sell for twice the cost it takes them to produce. I also know for a fact that Skyline, Jim Walter homes (manufacturers) builds quality at reasonable prices and pays there employees as they are based outside the state of Florida- They may cost more but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND IN THE END not to mention Finance (21st Mortgage Corporation) and Insurance (Mountain) companies, that these CON ARTISTS OWN or have a lot of INTREST UPON that WILL RIP YOU OFF EVEN MORE.

In Conclusion- As you can imagine they ripped myself off, a prior ex employee of fully documented $23,000.00 due in commissions payable to myself (two weeks/ one month prior to payouts minus the so called DRAW and when I was forced to SELF TERMINATE I received one last MINIMUM WAGE CHECK, plus the boot out the door while all collected but myself (manager on my lot and corporate): my south Florida attorney disclosed it would cost me near $5,000.00 to pursue employment bullies that hide behind corporate attorneys and MONEY/ was directed to this website at which you read now. In the STATE OF FLORIDA, GEORGIA, LOUSIANA and RHODE ISLAND YOU HAVE NO EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS RIGHT TO WORK STATES/ AT WILL or UNIONS and of course No Rights as employees, so be careful who you work for and when you get PAID. THIS MUST CHANGE Mr. Charlie Christ and our FLROIDA DELEGATES / FEDS. It must change. It must or these practices will never end- look at the economy here in this state of sunshine- went from gorgeous to the biggest mess SINCE the GREAT DEPPRESSION. Having read this lengthy article on what happened to this employee, can only say that the same trend continues here in 2014. The way the employment laws in Florida are written, but more importantly the way the employee contracts are written at Prestige leave  little doubt that this company is very fond of letting fresh sales recruits learn the trade some, generate some sales ( and what they think will be some hefty comissions) an then let them go without warning or cause. With a couple of sales, these comissions can be 4-5,000 dollars or more. It is stated in the employee contract that an employee can be terminated for any reason and without cause and any "pending" sales that have not yet finalized will be forfieted.

This is where it gets sticky. A sales can he held up for a number of reasons, final signatures, missing documents, etc. but when the lot manager is in charge of this time line, it seems "very" tempting to simply lose this paperwork in a drawer for a few days to ensure it is out of the company timeline/guidelines they would owe commission to a terminated employee. Who is left holding the contract now and who is due this full commission? Why the lot manager of course.  Do this a few times a year, and seems to be very easy money for letting a new enegetic saleperson who is full of initial promise do all the grunt work, and then someone swoops and takes the cash.

I think historically you will read this has happened and is "still" happening. All should be aware to read the contract before listening to all the "potential" this job posting may have. The contract should read that in the event the employee "quits" he or she would forfiet any comissions in the pipeline, not simply terminated for as explained above, this can be a a huge temptation for the lot manger to find any reason to terminate apparently without any corporate interference and these comissions floating around have to go to someone.   

This does not even get into the quality issues that have been noted with the product itself, but that is for another posting.

I would certainly not want to support a company who by default, has less than fully trained staff at all times (they fire everyone that comes along) and seems to have extreme moral issues and integrity that would have to pass into the after market support that you will be given ( which is also poor as noted by other postings).

 

Potential employees (suckers)  stay away from Prestige. I know the job market is depressed, but it will much more heartache than any reward.

Potential customer: Look eleswhere as well. Many more outlets are available and I would suspect some even have some heart and moral integrity.

I have worked in this industry for 28 years, the last ten years I spent with this company. I have to say without question, this is the finest company I have ever worked for. I have always been treated fair, and my earnings have surpassed any of my expectations. I have won trips the company offers, 3 sometimes 4 times a year, from Alaska to the Caribbean. They are won by the top producers in the company, from the sales person category, to the manager's category, and the top sales lot. They offer a bonus program that is second to none of the other places I have ever worked in the 28 years. Terry and Tom Trexler, they go to work every day just like I do. They are always available to me for any questions or problems I have. They are both very hard working people, who care about thier employees.

Sales people seem to think when they write the buyers order and take a deposit that constitutes a sale. The fact of the matter is that it is the start of the sale. You then have to get the deal approved with a lender, and meet the conditions of the loan. Arrange for home owners insurance, and then have a closing. If it is a new peice of property, arrange for clearing, stake the lot where the new home is to be placed, stake for the well, septic, and power pole. Meeting any, and all of the setbacks required by the county. The permit process is then started, in many cases that alone takes up to 6 even 8 weeks, and in some counties longer. When a permit is issued, then you have to arrange for delivery of the home, setup and anchoring. Then the well has to be ordered and installed along with the septic tank, and power pole. After they have been installed the hook ups must be done to the new utility that were just installed, then all the inspections have to be called in and passed. If everything passes the first time the county will issue a certificate of occupancy. Then you have to order the skirting for the home. At that time and only at that time is the deal done and commissions paid. Even then the sales person is to meet with the customer and to do a final walk through, and send in any service problems the customer may have.

There is no easy part to this job you have to know a little about everything and that us only on my level. Terry and Tom Trexler, not only have to know what I am doing, but they also need to know what everyone else in this large company is doing. They do a great job of it. The share holders of this company know it by thier return's and dividends. Some people think they can walk in and just make a sale well that is only the beginning. In my 28 years in this business, criers and whiner's like this one, do not have a clue of what thier job description consists of, nor have the ability to complete a sale. If the sales person does something unethical, or something against company policy, or will not take a drug test. We are a drug free work place. They will be let go. If they quit, and all of the above is not complete, at the time they leave. They have no commissions coming to them. The manager or another sales person must complete the sale, and do all the work that is not complete, they will be paid the commission. This is in writing at the time of the hire, so there are no surprises. Do your job, make sales, and complete them. You will make a lot of money and enjoy a great lifestyle.

You sir are an idiot. After sifting through the tremendous pile of garbage you spewed out in your previous post, I have come to the conclusion there are only a couple facts to address:

1. you have stated nothing of fact
2. you did something incredibly wrong and got fired
3. you are mad at yourself that you failed at being a "trailer salesperson".
4. you didnt use your real name because you know what you are saying are lies
5. you have no shot EVER of filing a law suit, otherwise you would have done it already, and your attorney would have informed you that writing these post would be grounds for dismissal of the lawsuit.


I worked for the company for quite a few years, and only the people who seriously break company policy get canned. Oh, and there is absolutely no way you left with over $23,000 in commissions due. Climb out of your fantasy and snap back to reality. I have never known the Trexlers to be unfair. Save us all from your mountain of crap and get over it. By the way- good luck finding another job.

THE RAMBLINGS of THE TRUTH HURT. "The Truth Hurts and Always' Prevail", as stated in the above, written by myself in a mere thirty minutes, thus, ALL IS STATED in the full truth, best to my knowledge to CREATE AWARNESS, perhaps, CHANGE. PREDATORY EMPLOYERS MUST BE STOPPED. THE STATE OF FLORIDA, GEORGIA, LOUSIANA and RHODE ISLAND MUST CHANGE THE PRACTICES CONDONED by these Big Money STATE BASED OUTFITS (from small to big- all crooks- @nyone that operates like this) that SLAVE PEOPLE INTO THE GROUND AND COLLECT while they laugh. FACTORY DIRECT PRICES (nightmare of service/ product) caused by them screwing their own people. UN NOBLE MEN IF YOU ASK ME. CRAZY THEORY BUT I ASSURE YOU ITS THE TRUTH- how this company is ran. MR. They are bullies, far from GOOD MEN and feed on the weak/ uneducated sales based with minimum wage DRAW/ 6 month payouts on the NIGHTMARE OF A COMMISSION (S) - they treat employees' worst then numbers (water pours more then they hire and fire) pure slum lords- they keep the ones SUCH AS "DAN" "BILL"/ Mr. 14 / 15 years in service, that will serve them- dirty work and attempt to clean up their messes'- the term they use is LOYALTY- I call it slavery or maybe even PROSTITUION. They work/ operate the company noted on the basis of THE STATE OF FLORIDAS' LAWS- STATUES' "RIGHT TO WORK STATE / EMPLOYMENT AT WILL STATE/ NO LABOR UNIONS/ NO RIGHTS. NO RIGHTS AT ALL. Should an employee act in an inappropriate manner, any company would be irresponsible not to respond. In our case, one of our first actions would be to request the offending employee take a drug test. If that employee refused, we would consider he or she had self-terminated. This may be what happened to Eyecandy.

As an employee of Prestige/ Majestic/ Nobility Homes, who has worked for this outstanding company for over 14 years, most of it in a supervisory position, I take great offense at this unjustified attack on our company. I am proof of the tremendous opportunity the company offers. I began working here in 1994 as a salesperson (the same position at which Eyecandy was hired). I was promoted to management within the first year of hire. Over the past 14 years my responsibilities were increased. My income also increased at a satisfying rate.

Mr. Terry Trexler and Mr. Tom Trexler are two of the most ethical, considerate, and professional employers for which I have ever worked. I have never known any employee to be treated unfairly at this company. The company does hold it's employees to a high standard. Eyecandy obviously fell far short of the company's expectations roper behavior.

I have been an employee of Prestige Home Centers, a division of Nobility Homes, Inc. for over 15 years. When "eyecandy" wrote about self termination, what he or she really said is that they broke a company written rule, so bad or so many times, that they could resign or be fired on the spot.

No company in its right mind would fire an honest, successful salesperson or manager. The statement that this person had over $20,000 commission due is pure fantasy. This company pays comissions on sold homes (we use the term funded homes) every two weeks. To have such a hugh amount due in the two weeks prior to termination is an exageration to the highest degree!

Wild statements like the company made $40 million dollars is a bold face lie. The company is publicly traded (NOBH) and records would indicate earning much less than that. Terry Trexler is the founder of the company, is on the board of directors, and is an employee of the company, just like me. The shareholders are the owners of the company.

I could go on an on about the lies, and misinformation. I think any intelligent reader can see that "eyecandy's" ramblings are nothing more than a vemonous assault on some very good men and on a reputable company with a 41 year history in Florida.
