Texaco Gas Station Illegal Price Scam Miami Florida
I stopped at a Texaco gas station in Miami and the price on the street sign was lower than the price at the pump! They placed tape over the area where you swipe your credit card so that I had to go inside and pre pay; that way I didn't get a receipt that itemizes the price per gallon like you do when you pay at the pump! Be cautious!!! Check the pump price and definitely pay attention if they make you pay inside!

What probably happened was that they were going through a price change. If the price was going down, they should have changed the price at the pumps before changing the price on the sign. If the price was going up, they should have changed the sign first.
Unless we see evidence that this is a recurring problem at this station, it's safe to assume that this was an error by the attendant(s) on duty and not a deliberate attempt to rip you off. You should have been able to get a refund on the price difference.
