I admit, I fell for it. I am currently unemployed and was looking for something different. Texas International Promotions called me in for a first quick interview that made the company seem new and different. They called me later that evening to schedule a second interview the following day. All they said was "be here at 9am and you will observe some of what we do."

When I arrived for the second interview I was told I would be going with two employees to see exactly what the company does. Little did I know I would be spending the entire day with them basically giving them a free day of work. The business is located in Arlington and the employees took me to set up their little booth in front of a Staples in Dallas. We were trying to promote D.A.R.E., the anti-drug educational group, by selling so-called D.A.R.E. products. I thought it was strange at the time. The company claims to be a third-party company hired by companies to do their promotions. This is total BS in my mind. Why would D.A.R.E. hire two guys in business suits to set up in front of a Staples to promote the program?

In total I was with the two employees stranded in Dallas from 9am until 5:45pm and we returned to Arlingon at 7pm. I was with them for 10 hours! Of course they DO NOT tell you this. I remember getting in the car after the "second interview", AKA a free day of work for this scam of a company, and calling my friends raving about how incredibly ridiculous the day had been.

Please don't get trapped like I got trapped. Don't even go for a first interview with Texas International Promotions! I know there are plenty of other promotions/marketing companies out there lately that are promising a good deal...PLEASE JUST SAY NO!
