I took a basic motorcycle riding class in April with Texas Motorcycle Training and will never recommend them to anyone. Jim Slaughter, the owner, is very disrespectful and doesn't have any consideration for a person who is learning. Riding a motorcycle for the first time is scary and yelling doesn't help. I dropped the motorcycle and he yelled at me in front of the entire class and indicated that if I dropped the motorcycle again I would be kicked out of the class. I have seen experienced riders dropping their motorcycle and don't understand how he expects beginners to be perfect.

Their motorcycles are in very bad shape - the first day I had a motorcycle that wouldn't go into neutral and another motorcycle broke down and one of the other students was put on a scooter.

My friend was kicked out of the class after 30 minutes of practice because "she was a danger to herself" - she wasn't given the opportunity to even try. They didn't tell us when we registered that we needed to know how to ride a motorcycle before signing up for the beginners class.

The quality of the instruction was awful, the facilities bad, no bathrooms anywhere.

And it sounds like you found one,you can ride for thirty years and one day the bike just gets off balance and down it goes,it happens to everyone. So if it didn't happen to you I would think something was wrong.

Good luck and be carefull.
