Complaint Review: Texas Restoration Services

 This report involves the unprofessional and misleading actions of Monte Davis, and Texas Restoration Services....

There is so much to report, but I will stick with some obvious problems with him.

First, he has not paid off one of his sub contractors as he agreed to do, in writing, and now this party is about to file a lien against my house.

The communication lines were very short and many of the details that should have been done, were not done, and this guy claims that there didn't need to be any communication between the builder and the customer, except for me to authorize the draws that he needed, and just get out of his way and let him do what he needed to do. (I have this in writing from him).

It tool him almost 8 months to build this 1527 sq ft. home, and it started Sept 7th 2013, and it was 80% finished by Christmas, then it took 4 more months to complete after that....truly amazing, it was mostly piece mealed together, and much of the work was started and didn't get finished until almost the end of the job.

The house turned out looking nice, but that is a testament to me bearing down on him to do what the plans called for, and holding his feet to the fire to finish.

At the beginning he supplied a culvert with some sand over it for the driveway for mainly to accomodate trucks and equipment to come on site. They eventually cracked the culvert, and when he was going to finish the driveway we ordered two new culverts to replace the busted one, and the dirt man who did the driveway called me and said that Monte had told him not to use a new culvert but just turn the broken one over and cover it up.....this is the kind of guy that I was dealing with!

Never could get a commitment for a schedule to finish this house, he just never produced it, and it remained a mystery to us throughout the project, we never knew from one week to the next what was being done, and why it was taking so long for simple things to get done....we got put off, or got no answers at all.

It should never have taken 8 months to build this house, and the main problem with that, is the fact that he lives in another city and doesn't get down to the Crystal Beach enough....he relies on his subs to carry him, and they are all unsupervised most of the time! I found so many things that were screwed up as they were building, like window sizes, the roof had to be taken off because he didn't go by the plans that I submitted to him, and he tried to make me think it was my fault....

It was a big mistake hiring this guy, and I could give a report that would this website would not hold, but suffice it to say that he is not trustworthy, and actually very deceptive about his approach to everything connected with the house......
