CONSUMER ALERT: I was referred to the McKinney office by my doctor for a fully insurance-funded sleep study to cost about $3500.  They called me to schedule an appoinment for that moning @ 11.30 am.  They called back to change it to 4.30 pm because they made a mistake.  The called back again and said they needed to reschedule for another day.  I scheduled for 11.30 am 2 days later.   I was about 15 minutes late due to traffic, hard to find, etc.  They stated they were about to go to lunch, but asked me to complete the paperwork which took about an hour+.  After that they came out and told me that they were not on my insurnce network, which turned out to be absolutely false.  I followed up with them seperately a couple of times in which they first hung up on me, then repeated the same lies and finally stated that they would not help me.  They also stated they referred me back to my doctor, which alsdo turned out to be a lie. Obviously their time and cocerns are more imprtant to them than their reason for being, serving patients ethicall and responsibly. I wonder what else this group of frauds is capable of.  They will soon be sued and reported to the state of Texas, where they have multiple locations.

You arrived nearly 30 minutes later than the original scheduled appointment time, which was 11:30. But regardless, we did verify the insurance beforehand. The home sleep study was an option we were hoping to consider at the time, which would have been covered 100% by insurance, but the in-lab study is likely the better option moving forward.

Please let me know if you don’t hear from Dr. Hopkin’soffice regarding scheduling an in-lab study at an HCA-affiliated facility. We will follow up with them regarding the situation if you don’t receive a call.

Update- Nocturna/ Texas Sleep Clinic:  Mal-practice and Professional Misconduct

I would hate to find out what all they are capable of, but here are a couple- distorting the truth (See email from Kevin King Below Update), misrepresentation, invasion and sharing of privacy, wasting of time, disorganization, never ending excuses and probably worse.   It turns out that my insurance network has a great contract price and they look for ways not to honor it.  I was 15 minutes late due to environmental circumstances such as traffic, road construction and the multiple names they operate under; it is confusing.

When I got there, I offered to reset.  They insisted on moving forward with paperwork and invading my privacy and wasting my time filling out the lengthy forms.  After numerous  claims that my insurance would not pay, hanging up on me and letting the phone go to voicemail, they said they would go ahead and do it, but that I objected to their misconduct and warned them that it could lead to negative consequences in the market and for their licensing; then they said they would not service me because I threatened them.  They were snubbing me in the referenced email stating that I would not be able to use their allegedly superior service and have to go to a lower rated facility.   This place is easy to get an appointment, not so with the superior places.
