I was searching for grants for women for small business, when I came across this company who said for $1.95 for s&h they would send me a disc with all the needed info. I must have signed a terms & conditions(which I don't remember & I don't even remember the web site). I never did receive the disc and forgot all about it. At the end of October I rec'd my Amex statement and there were 2 charges for $29.95 & 1 for $69.95. I called the $69.95 and they said that it was a charge for the programe, I told them I never rec'd the disc and I was told that that doesn't matter that I clicked the terms & conditions & that authorized their company to take this payment and that I could have gone on line to use the service, so my question to them was then why would I pay $1.95 for s&h if I could do it that way, obviously they wanted my credit card info. I was told there was nothing that could be done but they would cancel my membership and I would not be charged again. I then called the # for the 2 charges of $29.95 and found out that the 1st company gave them my info, they were a lot nicer and said that because it was within the time limit I would get a credit, but my question is What time limit? I don't even know who you are. I then called Amex & set up a dispute. Now today Nov.28th,2008 I rec'd a new statement & once again there is a charge of $69.95, once again I called the company and I was told that I cancelled on Oct.29th and this new charge had already gone thru on Oct.28th. Seeings I had reached a call center in the Philapinnes I asked them for the US # but was told that they do not have that info, they only had an address. How does one not have the #for your employee? Needless to say I am disgusted, even if it was only $10.00 I would be upset because its the principle, let alone all the stress & distrust that this causes. Beware of anything that reads an item is free etc. & one only has to pay S&H, they may be just trying to get you credit card info. NOTHING IS FREE!
