I recently moved across the country from Ontario to BC. This require me purchasing a vehicle that would be able to make the trip - I.E. A Truck.

I went to THAT CAR PLACE, and dealt with SAM the salesguy. He assured me he was selling me a truck that was running great, and that the muffler system had been re-done and all the leaks in this system were taken car of and everything was all clear for the safety/cert. to make our trip.

THAT CAR PLACE has they're own garage, so they did they're own safety on the truck.

Low n behold, i am now in BC and in order to register my truck it has to pass the safety inspection again.....only i took a 4 day trip across the country with this truck (not really enough to cause years of rusting i'd say) And i'm being told that the ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM has to be replaced before MY TRUCK can even think about passing a safety.

SAM from THAT CAR PLACE, sold me a truck that has an entirely rusted exhaust system where every single part has to be replaced exept maybe the actual muffler part that is still "salvageable". The bolts holding the exhaust system to the manifold are rusted to the point they look like toothpicks. Every piece throughout the exhaust system has completely rusted and has numerous numerous leaks throughout. The whole thing could fall apart at any time. The Y piece is completely rusted, and you can see where a mechanic has rubbed cement to prevent A LEAK on a single part of the exhaust near the manifold.

Never mind that i drove across country with a truck that had an entire exhaust system that could have fallen to pieces at any point through the mountains, it ended up costing me double in gas because everything's leaking out.

Now before i can continue driving in BC, i can either pay the 2000$ it's going to cost me to have a mechanic take apart the exhaust system and CUSTOM BUILD parts of it because they're not readily available, OR i can take an almost 6000$ dollar hit on a truck i've had for only 3mths and thank the dealer very much for selling me something that shouldn't even have passed a safety by ontario standards.

What a RIP.

If you move across the country and not give the dealership the chance to rectify the problem then thats your problem not the dealership, and despite what you say in your complaint, I work as a customer relation manager in a franchise service facility and let me tell you something, more than half of the complaint that I handle are lies and it happens due to the customer's fault, but my job duty is to consider that customers are always right and keep my mouth shut and bite the bullet, but not here,  I'm not related to this business so i don't care but it sounds to me like you have just a bit too much expectations, how can the person in charge fix your issue, if it was a mistake on their behalf then they are simply human, but you didnt give them the chance to rectify this being a cross the country!! tough luck, I would have had it inspected before a big trip like that, not only that but obviously you never noticed anything before leaving otherwise you would have absolutely complained before leaving, this is not a rippoff report, this is called I'm never happy report or don't make mistakes of my own report. I bit you if had a legit complaint you would have gone to the ministry of transportaion and filed a safety standard complaint, and they would gladly look in to it, that is if you had a legit complaint!!!!
