Diane McInnes sold me a female long-haired chihuahua on 5/16/03 (a Sunday). I encountered her at an outdoor market called Trader's Village on Eldridge Rd. in Houston, TX. The puppy seemed fine when I took her home.

The puppy would not eat or drink that night. I took her to my vet the next morning. She was hydrated and I had to feed her with a syringe every 2 hours. She was lethargic and I took care of her around the clock. I took her to the vet again and she was hydrated a second time (Tuesday).

That day, I took her to Diane in Bryan, TX, fearing that the puppy missed her mother. Diane took her to her vet. She took the puppy again the next day after a wound appeared on the back of her neck. She was given antibiotics.

24 hours later, she took her back to the vet to be cared for by him. According to Diane, another wound appeared in the same area, matching the bite of the puppy's mother. The puppy died that day due to an infection going to the heart, resulting from the bite her mother had given her - probably 2 weeks before. She said that the bite was not evident because of the long hair - so she had not treated it when it happened.

She said she would replace her (as if that would help the trauma that my 2 small children went through). I tried repeatedly to find her at the outdoor market, to call her, and to email her. No response.

I just tried to find her again - did a search and found the complaint on this site. Never knew it existed and am sorry that this has happened to someone else.
