Complaint Review: The Appliance Guy

The Appliance Guy They came and put in a new thermostat in my refrigerator. Didn't stay to see if it worked or anything else needed fixed. 10 minutes and charged me $100.00. On top of that he brought his wife and new born baby with him. What kind of business is this? Well just like I thought it is not working properly and for 3 days I have called to get them. They won't tell you their individual names. I told them it wasn't working and they need to come fix it and that I din't intend to pay again. They owe me she assured me they would. Told me she would call me back. She never has and when I try to call her it goes to voicemail. Cloverdale Indiana

I called The Appliance guy on Sunday because I am a diabetic and my refrigerator was full of insulin getting warm. My freezer was freezing but the refigerator was getting warm. The woman that answered the phone  didn't even tell me her name or the service guy's name. She said she would check and call back. She told me someone would be out around noon. Then an hour later she called back and said he would be coming with a new born baby could he bring it in with him. When he came here he was driving a junky truck and not only his baby but his wife. What kind of business is this? He came in the kitchen and looked in the freezer said oh this is easy. He changed the thermostat in maybe ten minutes.  I said how long will it take before I know if it is working. He said it will take 14 days to freeze before I will actually know what???? The fan inside the freezer has never shut off. I have called them for three days and they won't answer phone. Finally she answered and said she would tell him they would make it right. For me to call back in a 1/2 hr. I did she told me things to check . She said we will make it right. I will tell him. Never have got a call and he has never came 6 hrs. later. I tried to call and the voicemail pick up! This is no way to run a business. I should have said stop when they pulled up in that truck. Would not tell anyone  to use them.

 I am the owner of The Appliance Guy company and this report is false. We did get a call from a lady who was having trouble with her refrigerator and she stated she was a diabetic and was worried about her insulin going bad. It was on a Sunday and I was out spending the day with my family and told her that I would come out even though it was a Sunday because we didn't want her to lose her insulin. She was also informed that my family and I were out together and had also asked her if it was ok since we were already out if it was ok that my wife and baby came also. She said it was fine and even made a joke that the baby could come as long as she could keep her and laughed. We were there approximately 30-45 minutes as I had to defrost her freezer to be able to replace her thermostat. I showed her that the thermostat I took out was bad and had no continuity and pulled out the new thermostat from the package and showed her the new part did have continuity so I replaced it. She was also informed that it takes approximately 24 hrs. for the fridge to return to regular temperature and it would take about two weeks to see if there was any other problems. There is no way of being able to sit at someone's house for hours on end to watch the refrigerator run. She did call and spoke with my wife and my wife asked her to check a few small things to give us a better idea of what could be occurring with the refrigerator. The part we put on has a 30 day warranty. She was also told that we would come back out there and recheck our part but if the part we put on was not the problem she would owe a small second trip charge. She was very rude on the phone and it is very hard to accomplish anything with a customer who is not satisfied no matter what you do. Then to say that she made the assumption that because our vehicle wasn't as nice as she thought it should be that we were going to screw her over. Some people are hard to please and are never satisfied and this customer is definitely one of those people... We run an honest family owned and operated business and tried everything to attempt to rectify any situation and please all of our customers. Our service exceeds the price when the customer is always nice. That is the motto that we stand behind 110% when the customer understands that we can not predict the function of the appliance after we replace a part as the part that replaced may only have been the initial problem, that's where we are willing to work with a customer if they will work with us.
