Complaint Review: Beach Haus Resort

I called to check on the vacancy of a hotel I used to vacation to with my family when I was young. Since it was labor day weekend I expected the rates to be higher than usual and the receptionist to be busy, but the woman that answered the phone was very short with me straight from the beginning and somewhat rude to say the least.

I simply asked if there were any rooms available and she instantly replied saying "well first off you sound kind of young, how old are you??" She then asked if I was from "around there" and again I answered. Apparently an honest 22 year old male from Flint doesn't meet the standard requirements to stay at a small hotel in northern Michigan. I was told that there was only one room available for two and that the rate was $169 a night.

I found it kind of odd because it was never that expensive when we vacationed there every summer during my childhood. So later in the day I had my mom call and check on the rates. She spoke to the same lady who promptly told her that there were plenty of rooms available and that ALL OF THEM were only $97 a night!

Be careful when looking for a place to stay in Traverse city, god forbid you should call ahead. and definitley don't try the Beach Haus resort. You'll be judged before they even see your face! Pure and simple, bad business ethics at its finest
