The Berry Tree Charged to my debit card charges I did NOT authorize. Mechanicsville Virginia
I asked for information about this company through an e-mail I received from them. I was called by a representative. He told me everything was free for 30 days to "try out" the company and its benefits to me except for $4.95 that was shipping and handling for information that would benefit me in marketing whether I stayed with his company or not. I gave him my card number. I asked him about the products to be told "we have all kinds of products", would not give me any specific products. I would be receiving this info with my $4.95 package. (That should have been my clue) It sounded real good.
Before I got my package, I received another e-mail to go to "upgrade" in order to receive "$100 free" credit if I decided to continue with The Berry Tree. Weelllll that's when they hit my card for $55.00 for products I did not order. I called immediately to cancel and was told they could NOT and that I would have to return the product and be charged $5.00 for restocking. This is "bull dust". I work in retail and there is no way within 2 minutes a transaction cannot be cancelled. They are a RIP-OFF...beware!
By the way, I just received the $4.95 package and there is no marketing info...it's an MLM and the products are vitamins.

The Berry Tree Free Trial

First of all, you should NEVER signup for anything over the phone where you have to give your credit card info. You're accusing The Berry Tree of something that one of our affiliates MAY have done.
Next, when our members take the free trial they have to "check" the box confirming that they've read the terms. As with MOST free trials offers, if you don't cancel then you are automatically billed after the free trial is over. In this case you should have been billed for $55.95 after your 30-day free trial expired. There is nothing strange about our free trial. "Automatic Subscription" after a trial period is as common as daylight.
You say that you did not upgrade? The only way possible for you to be billed BEFORE your free trial ended is if SOMEONE went to your site and did it for you. From the way that you signed up, it's quite possible that your sponsor (or whoever assisted you) went to your site, logged in and upgraded you. I say this because you stated that you signed up by phone. This means that you had to choose a password for your account and give it to the person on the other end. The Berry Tree does not recommend this. Actually, it's forbidden for a member to accept the cc info of their new members/prospects. When this happens the new member (obviously) does not have the opportunity to read the terms.
Furthermore, The Berry Tree does not sell "vitamins". We sell 2 products which are rich in vitamins but they themselves are not vitamins.
1. Berry flavored Coral Calcium (o2 Berry) - raises the body's pH levels
2. A vegetable powder (Berry Greens Boost) - 1 serving = 8 salads
I believe that it goes without saying REAL people had to look at your order, package your product and ship your product. REAL people will also have to open your package and restock your product. Of course, the company's employees do not work for free. They are paid for their work just like everyone else. So again, there is nothing strange about a re-stocking fee.
Bottom line is that it sounds like you were "ripped off" by a member, NOT by the company. If that is the case, you can login to your Berry Tree backoffice and file a complaint against that member. Look for the "BNA Support" link after you've logged in:
