Complaint Review: The Bog Restaraunt

The Bog Restaraunt I left my wallet at this restaraunt and they promised to mail it to me. IT NEVER HAPPENED! I had $100 dollars in it and credit card ss cards etc! It was a nightmare, they kept saying we mailed it, but there is no record of it! Warrens Wisconsin

My family visited this restaraunt in March 2006. I left my wallet at this place and called when we were over an hour away. They said dont worry about it we will mail it to you asap. Great I said! Well it NEVER happened. How sad I lost $100 and had to have credit cards replaced ,SS# cards and drivers license. I laso had about $100 in gift cards in there.

I would've gone back. Along the way, I'd call and cancel the credit cards and the gift cards (if possible) in case someone tried to use them or copied down the numbers to use later.

Don't carry your SS card in your wallet, there's no reason to. The only time you need it is if you are starting at a new job.

And if you do get your wallet back with the cash still in it, take some cash out and give it to the finder as a reward for his or her honesty.

If it had been me, I would have returned & got my wallet

if at all possible, and not trust the mail nor burden the restaraunt staff with returning it. Many people recommend that we not send cash by USPS.

And even correctly addressed mail goes to the wrong place. I know I get some addressed to random intended recipiants.

Unless your wallet was sent Certified return receipt or something similar, there will be no record and you may very well never see it.

Isn't it possible that it was lost in the mail? I've had b-day cards with checks in them go missing in the mailing many times. In fact, it happened enough times that I no longer mail anything at all.

Did you call them back ask them if they mailed it? If, by chance, they had a wrong addy on it, it might've wound up in mail Limbo (aka dead letter office).
