Didn't give me a break some days and went along with callers talking about being involved in sex acts with minors .....

I simply feel this is a horrible company to work for! I was really stressed every day I had to work for them. Somedays,I never got a break and I was on the phone 8 hours a day talking to mostly disgusting "men"! I did work at home but I should still have gotten a break everyday. I was a phone actress at this company and so yes,I realize I was going to get some real perverts a lot. However, some of the callers would talk about having sex with 14 year olds and it didn't seem to bother my supervisors! Once, one of my supervisors was on the phone taking a call with me and a caller said he just had sex with a 14 year old girl and he sounded like he was in his thirties or fourties and my supervisor just went along with it like it didn't bother her!

In fact, she laughed a little! Instead of telling him that kind of talk is illegal and not allowed. Which is what I feel she should have done. They didn't seem to care about me at all. Only their horrible and disgusting callers. I did quit because I couldn't deal with them anymore but I wanted to file this report to warn others and hopefully change their company. Phone sex companies are great, but they shouldn't involve talking about pediphilia, incest or rape.

Some things never change!

I worked for this company for five years, and it sounds like they haven't changed one bit.  After repeatedly NOT being given breaks and being told, "Since you didn't get a break, we're going to let you go ten minutes early instead" - Sure, so they can screw me out of a quarter of an hour's pay, on top of the loss of a break! - I confronted the supervisor (who never identified herself) about the break situation and losing a quarter of an hour's pay on top of it.  She got smart with me, then said that was all she had to say about the matter.  I said, "Fine, good-bye!", then hung up.  A couple of minutes later, another supervisor called to inform me that I was being terminated for hanging up on a supervisor!  No... I just finally caught on to how they screwed us gals out of $2.00 a night!  What a crock!

This IS a "no taboo - anything goes" company, so I was never too surprised at what I heard or had to participate in, as much as I may have personally disapproved of it.  There was one guy who stands out for me, though.  He wanted me to be his one year-old daughter, "Breezy" for baby rape.  I must've done this "fantasy" 30 times in one year.  A real sicko.

There was one interesting development, about my third year into working there.  When you call in, there's a male voice asking you for your log-in (2003-2008).  As used to that recorded voice as I was, every once in awhile, when I was having a really good hold-time (bonus-style), an eerily similar voice would call in, ask a couple of stupid questions, then hang up at around the 30-second mark.  We all know what that can do to your hold-time and your prospective bonus.  It sure made me wonder.  Of course, they would deny any such "at home supervisor" strategies, wouldn't they?  Don't waste your time with this company, Ladies!  They don't care about you, and they will cheat you.   Viv, Burbank, CA U.S.A.

No excsue to talk about sex with children

I am an ex employee of this company, The excuse that you are an actress on the phone is a damned poor excuse when it comes to talking about sex with children. Not even any decent Hollywood film producer would make a movie dicussing the joys of sex with a 6 year old. When I worked at this company, I had many men wanting me to act like I ws 6, just a child, and they were screwing me. One man told me he was having sex with a nine year old girl. The supervisor, as Michele from Henderson said, did not give a d**n. One time a man wanted me to act like i was a 12 year old and he was about to rape me. I told a supervosor that I could not discuss this, and she told me to tell the man what it was like to be turned on to a man when i was 12. Most 12 year olds dont even think about sex. This company expects their operators to talk about sex with animals., anything. Just because they tell you that you will talk about things taboo before you begin the job does not excuse talking about illegal things such as sex with children. Anyone who defends this company's sick policies of fantasizing about sex with children or animals is sick themselves. I dont mind a man calling and fantasizing about adults having sex. But the illegal stuff needs to stop. It has been very recently since I worked for this company, things have NOT changed since 2003 as one person who wrote a rebuttal on this board said. I usually got breaks , so that was not my complaint. This is a sick company obviosuly owned by sick people, or they would not expect their operators to listen to these lurid, illegal topics. I am ex stripper so dont tell me I am a prude. TBE could be a decent company to work for if they would put a stop to their child molestor sex talk. There is a supervisor who wrks for this company who is so hateful, she makes it not worth working for this company.

I just wanted to write a rebuttal about this report as this comment was written in 2003 and as of 2008, the company has changed. First off, I always get a break on my shift; considering how many people are working a night, I find it pretty cool that my manager always comes on at the same time every night to ask me if I want to take a break. Also....it's working from home so I consider taking a break a luxury just to eat a little something, get out of character for a second, etc.

Second, my supervisor has incredible attention to detail. She's been working for the company for 13 years and she truly cares about her employees. She remembers if I need to be off early for any reason, she gives loads of encouragement and is always willing to answer my questions regarding different types of calls, etc. This job, in all honesty, is like any other; if you work hard and express interest in what you are doing, you job will pay you back and not just monetarily!

In terms of feeling uncomfortable about some of the calls; you are a phone actress. You are not your character. Part of being an actress is taking on a role other than yourself. If this is something you can't do (and a lot of people can't....if they could, Hollywood would be even more ridiculous than it is now! LOL) then this is not the job for you but you shouldn't look down on the company for it. The contract states that you WILL be discussing taboo issues-do you think an actor who plays a rapist really thinks that he is indeed a rapist? My point being, you are not your character. That's not your job.

Anyway, I've had a great experience with this company and had to add my rebuttal, especially since this was written in 2003. Things have changed!
