The Bulldog Exchange Ignores Customers, BBB and Fl Dept of Agriculture Loxahatchee Florida
We purchased a mini-bulldog from this company in November 2007. On the way home after taking delivery of the puppy, we noticed that she had a cough and runny nose. We immediately contacted the business and were told to take the puppy to our vet. We did so the next morning and the vet immediately began treatment. She also determined that the puppy had recently undergone an abdominal hernia repair.
Despite the vets immediate treatment, the puppy's symptoms would not clear. A x-ray determined that she had pneumonia.
We again contacted the owner and were told that we would received financial assistance in getting the dog healthy.
The dog was seriously ill, but by this time had become a member of the family (we have two children). It took several weeks, and over $1,000 to get the puppy over the illness.
Within a couple weeks of this issue, we noticed spots on the top of her head. Another vet visit determined that the puppy's mother had passed on mites. The vet stated that this would not be an issue with most puppies, but because her immune system was so weak she succumbed to the mites. We are now a few hundred more dollars in the hole and in the middle of eradicating the mite issue.
Despite The Bulldog Exchange's assertions that we would receive compenstaion for our vet bills, to date, they have credited our account for only $24.00.
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Dept of Agriculture. In both cases the owner of the Bulldog Exchange failed to answer my complaints.
I recommend that potential buyers contact the South Florida Better Business Bureau at 772-337-2083 or the Florida Dept of Agriculture at 850-410-0951, prior to make any purchase from this business.
