Christopher Joyce aka The Business Network stole $5800 from me.  In Dec. 2014, I signed up as a vendor at 2 of his networking events which he later canceled.  I requested a refund.  He has lied numerous occasions that the refund has been mailed to me.  At this point, he does not return any calls or emails.  He is a con man and scam artist.

Here is the initial email I received:

Good morning. I wanted to reach out to you quick through email to see if you are taking on new clients. I was hoping that you might be able to take a few clients yourself or point me in the direction of someone who is at this time. I am trying to find an advisor who is looking to take on clients and build relationships with local business owners. We work with Banks, Mortgage Companies, Real Estate firms, Attorneys, among other business owners throughout the area and currently we don’t have an advisor to help them in your area.

My Company, The Business Network is holding an event for roughly 100 area business owners on March 5th at the Hilton and we are looking for an advisor who is still looking to take on clients.

We will only bring in 1 Financial Advisor to work with between 75 to 100 local Business Owners and Managers. We do want to make sure the advisor has a clean record and no complaints with FINRA.

The attendees have been qualified before the workshop to ensure we are not just putting on a free breakfast and getting a room full of “plate lickers.” We do our best to ensure most attendees have been in the industry for more than ten years and are top producers in their profession.

The main point of emphasis in our workshop is to get these business owners to develop a financial plan. This will allow them to ensure growth on a yearly basis and have a true escape from their industry when the time comes. Everyone wants the retirement where they can vacation, and live the dream lifestyle they worked 20, 30, or 40 years for. We talk about the importance of starting a financial plan immediately.

Most advisors I currently work with have client minimums of anywhere from $250,000 to $2,000,000. We don’t expect an advisor to go out to our workshop and take on every client that wants help. If you want to go out and cherry pick the top 2 or 3 clients that best fit your business model that is absolutely fine. The only thing we ask is if you have someone who is on the lower end looking to invest $60,000 or $70,000 and you don’t want to take them on to refer them to an advisor who can help them.

Thanks,

Christopher Joyce
