Complaint Review: The

This company is called The, prouounced "Tay" - they go from city to city acting as a talent scout for child actors and modles.  You call a number and they arrange an interview for your children at a local hotel. 

First they "wow" you with this fancy video, then they interview your children then have them audition a comerical that they would send you by email weeks prior.  If you kid "qualifies" then they call you back the next day and offer them a "one in a life time opportunity" to be coached by professionals in Florida and be scouted by talent agencies.

Of course there is a lot more "perks" to it but it comes with a hefty price tag, at least $2,500 that they need upfront and immediatly.  They have you sign an air tight contract that makes it virtually impossible to get your money back.  Wait is did not mention that the $2,500 does not include air fare, hotel or food the money is just for their "service".

In truth this is not a scam, the company actually provides the service that they adverstise but it is an unecessary expense.  If you beleive that your child has talent contact a local talent agency and work with them.  Most charge only minimual adminstrative fees ($300 to $500) to work with your child becuase they get a cut of what your child would make in an acting job or photo shoot.

"The" is a hard company to research (have you tried googleing "The"?) they have no standard company web site and is not listed with the BBB.  Bottm line - never pay up front for these types of talent scams and never submit to high pressure tactics.
