I have been a cubs fan for as long as i can remember, I have alot of their merchandise and went to a few games bought their tshirts and hats
I lost my favorite cubs hat the other day and my girlfriend was like lets go buy you a new one, and i got to thinkin, Why in the hell should i give these guys one more cent of my money?? Think about it, They have the highest payroll in the whole national league and the third highest in baseball, and they are currently 5th in thier division... again...
After last year, the white sox winner, i was kinda sick to my stomach, yet at the same time i was happy that a chicago baseball team finally succeeded, But this is unacceptable, I mean look at them out on the field every day Ramirez swingin for the fences every at bat... people making all these excuses for Mark prior and kerry wood all the time, its just so disgusting. dont even get me started on dusty baker.. i havent liked him since he was in San Fran, and again was sick to my stomach when the cubs wanted and got him, horrible from the GET GO. You can all say whatever you want about the '03 playoff run but he ruined that just as much as bartman, watch the tape...
anyway, my ripoff is this, and hopefully some cubs fans or even noncub fans will agree, STOP BUYING THERE MERCHANDISE, TICKETS, BEER, HOTDOGS, SHIRTS, JERSEYS, ANYTHING THAT WOULD GIVE THEM MONEY, YOU ARE NOT HELPING THIS HORRIBLE TEAM, YOU ARE HURTING IT, They dont give a hell about winning, they care about money, and they know YOU CHUMPS out there will continue to fork it over, Myself personally i am taking a stand, I WILL NOT buy anything from them untill they are contending or in the hunt, You may say thats bandwagon, but i say thats smart... Screw em,
I do appreciate the likes of Michael barret, Greg maddux, Carlos zambrano, Derrek lee, Todd walker... but most the others dont seem to care, anyway Think about it.. and hopefully this will make a difference, but i know cubs fans, it probably wont..

Mike, the Cubs do suck again this year. Why don't you just cheer for the White Sox. They have a shot at winning it all again.
BTW, I'm a Red Sox fan, so I understand how you feel. But buck up, if the red Sox and White Sox can break their curses in consecutive years, so can the Cubs-someday.
Think about this: The freakin' Florida Marlins have one 2 World Series in nine years. The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Anaheim Angels have even won it once.
But the Phoenix Suns have never won an NBA title, and this isn't the year either.

Maybe I should root for the cardinals at least they look like a winning BASEBALL TEAM. But I refuse to do that, im a Chicago fan, if anything i may start watchin the sox, they play the game the right way..
But your one of those fans im talking about, The cubs can continue to be one of the worst teams in baseball and you will still go out to the games and buy their products and give the tribune company (which owns the cubs) even more money, but im not on here to bust your balls about it, your doing it yourself.
I'm pretty sure that if the Cardinals or Yankees, perennial winners, were playing the type of baseball the cubs are they wouldnt sell out every game, I bet they wouldnt even sell half their tickets,
I really wish i could like the cubs as much as i used to when i was a kid, but its difficult cause i like winners and they are not.
They play with no motivation no urgency to win, thats the only curse they have, there are exceptions as i said, Derrek Lee, Maddux, a couple more, but overall they are there to get there check and go home, are you to ignorant to see that? Really are you? I feel bad for those guys having that kind of garbage around them, they should just let DLee and maddux go to teams that WANT to win.. Like they do.
Anyway, hopefully you can rebut me with something a little more intellegent then be a cards fan, Btw im not being sarcastic, but i would really enjoy for you to prove me wrong.. Please haha think hard...
