The Compliance Doctor (Troy Lair) Fraud, Irresponsible, Untrustworthy, Scam Internet
I made a fully refundable deposit of $5000 to hold surgical equipments for my surgery center in June '09. Per Troy Lair, the equipments belonged to a dying ENT surgeon who has trusted him to sell the equipments for him.
When the project fell through, I requested a refund in October. Needless to say, it is now Feb 2010, and I still have not received my refund. He made excuses after excuses, stating that the owner was out of the country, and then he (Troy Lair) got terribly sick and was completely incapacitated for weeks at a time. He even had his "mother" write me an email asking me to give "her" son a relief as his health was in jeopardy. All this time, I see that he is posting blogs promoting his company. When threatened with a lawsuit, he wrote me an email stating that he finally got my money from the owner, but then refuses to send me the money, and essentially becomes completely unresponsive to all forms of contact.
Not surprisingly I see that similar complaints of fraud and scam are being posted on various sites, including this site and dotmed.com. I wrote a complaint on dotmed which triggers a response from him stating that since I've written the complaint, the damage is done and he has no incentive to refund my money! How defiant can he be...instead of being sorry for his wrongdoing, he victimizes himself stating that he will "survive" despite me cutting off his lifeline...how dramatic. Needless to say, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM ARTIST!!! He will say anything to make bogus excuses, and when he runs out of excuses, he simply disappears and becomes completely unresponsive. I am not even sure if he even has an office or any staff members. According to the CA Secretary of State, his registered agent resigned...probably got tired of receiving so many legal documents against Troy Lair (The Compliance Doctor, LLC).
Stay away from this guy...before he runs off with your money. He is a crook as far as I'm concerned...he has my money and refuses to return it. He threatened to write about me as a surgeon and a client. Well...he is not my patient, so he can not say anything about me as a doctor (unless he wants another lawsuit for slander), and what is he going to say about me as a client - that I got upset and posted my horrendous experience with him for last 4 months in trying to get my refund deposit of $5000. I have all of his emails and receipt - all of which would easily support my case in anyone's eyes and in court of law. But of course, in his dramatic fashion, he is now the victim of my betrayal? but he will survive...give me a break!

I am here to retract my previous report on Mr. Troy Lair (The Compliance Doctor). I am embarrassed, but not too proud, to state that my statements regarding Troy were premature and based on incomplete information. I jumped to conclusions that were not true, and certainly not reflective of Mr. Lair's indispensable services which he rendered for my surgery center and accreditation needs in a most generous fashion. I have personally extended my gratitude to Mr. Lair for his excellent services, and only wish that I had waited further to gather more information before making erroneous statements that I wish could be omitted. Please ignore my previous report about Mr. Lair, as it was falsely based on misunderstanding and prematurity.
