On April 8, 2008 The Crack Team resurfaced our driveway. We paid in full as services were completed, the sum of $1500. A 5 year warranty was given to cover the work done.

The color of the driveway didn't appear to be correct at first, and we were told it needed to completely dry to better determine the final color. Also, large areas of our sidewalk and into the street by the end of the driveway had resurfacing material dripped on them.

We were initially told someone would come out and evaluate the problem, but no one ever came. Phone calls to the company were unreturned. Finally, we were able to reach Bob Kodner, the president of the company, to report the problem.

We were told by Mr. Kodner that the franchise in our area had gone out of business and he was presently working to get another contractor in the area to franchise with him. When that was done, we would get the repair done by the newly franchised contractor. He said we would be contacted by March of 2009 to do the work, to allow for enough time for the franchise to be up and running. No one ever called concerning the driveway repair.

In April 2009 we spoke to Bob Kodner again and was told he would have someone out "in the next few weeks" to take a look at the problem. Of course, no one came. We filed a complaint with both the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General. Both agencies' attempts to reach someone have gone unanswered, so they have told us they cannot do anything else.

While all of this has been going on, the appearance of the driveway has deteriorated dramatically. It is crumbling and breaking apart along every seam. It looks in worse shape now than it did to begin with.

Made Contact, Resolved Issue

#2Consumer Suggestion

I was able to make contact with The Crack Team St. Louis.  Apparently, "The Crack Team" is a national franchise-type thing that went out of business, however our local Crack Team franchise is still here.  I found them on Angie's List.

I called them at (636) 273-1150 and got someone right away.  They were nice and scheduled me for my warranty service.  I asked about the 866-CRACK-TEAM number, and she said they were trying to get that shut down but it is a legal issue.  Apparently the local guys are continuing without the national affiliation.  Their website is http://www.thecrackteamstl.com/

Hope this helps somebody.  I was leaving messages at the old number for days!
