If an on line deal looks too good to be true it most likely is as was my experience with "The Digital Nerds." I was shopping on line Sunday morning for a Canon camera and "Lo and behold" and unbelievably low price was found for $135 for the camera I wanted at the Digital Nerds. The Ad indicated the camera was available and no indication of refurbished was shown. The site that identified the Digital Nerds, Everyprice.com submitted that they had a 5 star consumer rating. Thus, I immediatley placed an order for the camera and avoided the ultra high priced accessories. Shipping was an added $8 so the overall price was still over $20 less than Amazon for the same item.

Later that morning two phone messages were left as well as an email inidicting that I had to call them to confirm the order. When I called the sales pitch for flash memory cards was made by James for 5 times the price of anywhere else. I declined as I have many SD cards. James then related that the camera is on back order. I said i could wait.

I later checked my account on their site and saw that there was no order there so they must have cancelled it. I called the next day to cancel anyway. This is a classic bait and switch. These people capitalize on the naivete of some folks who do not know any better. They must get some bites or they could not remain in business. Buyer beware. Buy from Amazon of Dell or Tiger Direct or New Egg. Avoid the NYC based camera shops.
