My story is similar to many others. One afternoon, I arrived at the office of the direct outsource group and met with Jason Menchen, president, for an entire 5 minutes of interview time. He seemed like a cool guy, pretty unprofessional - which I wasn't used to, but fun. He invited me back for a 2nd interview where I met with a current account manager who had been with the company for quite some time.

The next day, James (the account manager) took myself and another interviewer out for the 2nd full day interview. A new employee who was just finishing training rounded out the rest of our group. The four of us spent an entire day walking door to door attempting to sell office supplies. I don't know why I took the job after that, but I did. I think I was excited to have a job offer so soon after graduation. I was ready to get out and work. And that's exactly what I did for less than a month. That was all I could handle of the lying, horribly long work days (7:30am-6:00pm not counting commute), and nonexistent pay.

Although I did get along with my fellow employees, work was always the number one priority. We were forced to attend group nights (after being up for 12 hours and walking for 85% of that time) and even when we saw each other outside of work, we were almost always discussing work. I had no life while I worked at the company and I was always exhausted from work. Even though I worked 50+ hours during the week for the company, they still wanted me to come in on the weekends to attend workshops. These unpaid workshops were supposed to help myself and a select few learn about the different products and selling techniques. There was no end to how bad the job was.

This is THE worst job anyone can have. Please do not apply, or worse yet, actually accept a job from a company like this. Some of the companies under CYDCOR in Tampa include: The Marketing Firm, RDK & Associates and The Direct Outsource Group. I'm not sure, but Vision Marketing might be another one.
