This company has representatives going door to door representing Dish Network and Direct TV.  It seems that if you have one or the other they will try to switch you and commit you to a 2 year contract.  My elderly father has had Dish Network for several years and they tried to switch him to Direct TV.  They are not up front with exactly what they are signing unsuspecting customers up for.  He signed a contract with the promise they would save him money.  They arranged for an installer to hook it up the next day even though he had 3 days to change his mind and cancel.

When I went to my father's house he showed me the contract.  There was no information on it as far as price was concerned.  He wasn't given time to read the small print.  He cancelled the installation, made a report to the Better Business Bureau, and cancelled his credit card so they couldn't charge anything to it.  These people cannot be trusted.

When I called the 800 number they told me it was a limited term contract and would increase after 2 years to $69.00.  The small print said it would increase $15.00 the first year plus $4.00 a month in taxes.  What they were offering did not amount to any savings, but an increase in what he was currently paying.

Don't give this Mike L from Dish any info! If he were a legit rep he'd have supplied a bona fide Dish Network email and telephone, and most likely more of an ID than just Mike L.

I came across your post and wanted to share some input!  I do apologize about the situation that was presented to you by the salesmen.  They were most likely apart of a local retailer who, as you said, work for both companies.  They may have asked you for some information you felt uncomfortable with giving, because they would need it to explain promotions of the other company you would qualify for.  If you have any questions about this incident or our DISH Network service, please feel free to let me know as I would be more than happy to assist further!

Hope that helps!
