This company pays every two months. It seems your work is not rewarded very well. Personally, because of a dispute over a job that I did not take, I felt bullied to take it. There is an aura of unprofessionalism there and other people that have worked there have had some disagreements with the owner which I was privy to.

Because of a dispute over my taking on a job, my pay has been withheld. Unfortunately, I may have to take this to small claims court in order to get compensated for a job that I agreed to do only because the owner had been stiffed by some other contractors. I was promised a certain rate of pay to be paid in two weeks' time, and that was not forthcoming.

I feel if a company does not have the working capital to pay in a timely manner, they shouldn't be in business.

No, I am the person who did the Frieir file on an emergency basis, 161 minutes on 16 October and then 20 minutes on 17 October. The girls that didn't complete their work had let it sit for a while. I was promised .75 audio minute to be paid in two weeks' time. I have the proof, the work I did, a screenshot of the agreed wage and also the date and time of said promised payment. Don't fudge the facts. I am filing in small claims court. I would be careful about accusing someone of having substance abuse issues. This actually constitutes libel.

Today marks my 1st ANNIVERSARY with this company!

I am so grateful our paths have crossed.  The owner is fair, compassionate, gives second chances, gives fair assignments and most importantly PAYS!

The fact that there are a couple disgruntled employees should not discourage someone to apply for work for this team.  There are many other facts that debunk this ridiculous claim.

First of all, we all signed the same agreement.  We are aware of when the assignment is due, the rate of pay and when to expect it.  We get paid monthly depending on the file.  We are not BULLIED to take on a file!

The person that filed this bogus claim bailed on the assignment she agreed to take on.  Didn't even attempt to work on it.  Then after 3 days, it was up to the team to scramble and complete in time.  Who does that?!

It's a shame that people that have substance abuse issues can try to belittle someone and harass them.  I am aware of the exchanges that have taken place - and one should be cautious of threats!

Looking for a change in your career?  Would like to work from home?  Enjoy typing?  Then this is THE team to join.  I've had experience with other companies ... and HANDS DOWN have found the right one!

The Cost of Doing Business

I totally agree that I responded in a manner that was over the top. Any time I would bring up any conversation about payment the topic was avoided. I had not signed any form of contract acknowledgement since 2013. My personal life was in turmoil and had been until I remedied that situation on my own. I was asked about an assignment on Monday the 24th. The guidelines were a little rough, but I felt doable. The 35-minute job was not due until the 30th or so. I said on Tuesday that I would upload the audio and decide at that point whether or not I felt the job was doable for .40 an audio minute. I felt that it was not and stated as such.

The business owner had run into difficulties due to others not fulfilling their obligations on 16 October. She had promised me payment in two weeks' time. This was in writing or frankly I wouldn't have taken the job at all. I did not threaten bodily harm, I only said if there was a dispute to bring it to me and we could take it outside. No big deal. I swear like a sailor and have no problem standing up for myself.

Everyone needs paid when promised no matter the tricky legalese someone uses to withhold payment. To me, it's a non-issue that this has flared into an online dispute and argument. I don't particulary like being ignored when I ask about money or payment, expressing my reluctance to work for someone who doesn't pay in a timely manner, and basically gets ignored and blown off when trying to resolve working relationships.

#5REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, November 01, 2016

This individual is a digital remote transcriber nad has had done work for The Document Handlers, LLC sporadically over a period of a few years during which time she has always had issues with her personal finances due to reasons she disclosed concerning her personal relationships with significant others.  While she did good work when she was working, there were times that she would just disappear while in the process of completing assignments with no word whatsoever concerning the status of the assignment leaving the company in a predicament to complete such assignments.

The most recent situation, the claimant exhausted a significant amount of time reviewing the guidelines of an assignment and finally committed to doing it only to change her mind a couple of days later, to which the company was a bit mythed as to why she would even take it on, showing irresponisibility and unprofessionalism and when advised  that the act was unprofessional went into a tangent of indispicable rants and subsequently made threats of making allegations to which she has filed this report with you.

She has always been and would have continued to be an independent contractor which signed a contract that clearly spelled out a 30-day net pay of monthly billing and as such, any work done in the month of October and submitted would be paid pursuant to that contract, which would be the end of November.  And has always been told that should the clients pay earlier that her pay would come earlier and that, that was not a promise, but the occasional happening.

Therefore, the work that this individual completed in mid-October was only billed on the last day of October, yesterday.  As such, the contractual agreement of 30-days net agreed to my this individual and all of the other independent contractors that do work for The Document Handlers, LLC is not due to be paid to this individual or others until the end of November.

This individual has made a number of baseless allegations, been unprofessional, used profanities and made harassing and terroristic threats, threatened bodily injury and simply has just not been a lady and each time such threats are made in an instant messenger this individual will then delete herself from the messenger, only to re-appear to make continued threats.  Unbeknownst to her all of these conversations were archived, therefore, the act of deleting herself in an attempt to remove the conversations are of no avail.  I'm sorry that this individual has taken this route, but my contractual agreements stand as they are and though this is a small emerging business entity, the company will not be manipulated by the threats and innuendo.
