Back in May of 2015,  went to the furniture store called The Dump in Oaks, PA.  i was there to purchase a new mattress , frame etc and spent well over $3000.  When i first encountered a sales person Mario, i explained that i was in a car accident and had back problems and needed a firm mattress to support and help with pain.  He immediately led  to a product line that we never heard of and assured us that it was the Cadillac of mattresses.  He seemed to know what he was talking about (although now it seems as if he took advantage of a single woman being there and told me what i wanted to hear and not the truth).  We made the purchase and had everything delivered.  Almost immediately,  noticed that it was the opposite of firm and that i was sinking into the mattress and was having trouble sleeping and experiencing pain because it was not the firm mattress she requested and thought she purchased.  We started to try to call and text her sales person to get help but he ignored this.   then finally was able to get him on the phone at the store (a few weeks later) and he brushed us off to customer service.  Customer service asked us to fill out a warranty form even though we said this isn’t a warranty thing, it was a wrong product sold.  .  I spoke with a manager named Josh who actually admitted that the mattress Mario sold her was part of a contest they were running at the time and he probably pushed it for that reason.  He agreed to look into it and help but never did and started ignoring my calls and texts and opted to hide behind voicemail.  I then contacted the corporate offices and spoke with a rep named Jessica and a manager named Melita.  They again asked for the warranty form to be filled out.  We did that and they immediately said this is not a warranty issue, which is what we said all along.  They then said they would have a manager from the store contact me to discuss and help but that was 3 weeks ago and even though I have followed up since, we have no rectification and not even a discussion.  I am turning to you to see if there is any way you can help her.  This is an obvious case of a sales person taking advantage of a female customer to sell something that pads his pockets and not listening to the customer’s needs to sell them the right product!  My friend has said all along that she is willing to exchange it for another mattress even if it costs more and she has to pay the difference.  She just wants something that she can actually sleep on for the over $3000 she spent.  So far, she has had to sleep at friends’ houses, family’s houses or on the sofa.  Please help her!

You wrote, “i was there to purchase a new mattress , frame etc and spent well over $3000.  When i first encountered a sales person…” but then you wrote, “ i was sinking into the mattress and was having trouble sleeping and experiencing pain because it was not the firm mattress she requested and thought she purchased”. Who is this person ‘she’? Are you suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder? Perhaps the personality that selected the mattress in the store isn’t the same personality that tested it at home.

“My friend has said all along that she is willing to exchange it for another mattress…” Is this a THIRD personality?

Your time line makes no sense. The purchase was six months ago yet your discussion with the corporate office was three weeks ago. Have you and your multiple personalities been sleeping on the sofa for the past six months?

“Almost immediately,  noticed that it was the opposite of firm”

Did you test the mattress in the store? You didn’t mention the reason as to why you didn’t refuse the mattress upon delivery.

[The three of] you need to stop whining about being a woman and acquire some self-esteem.
