Complaint Review: The Empty Canoe

In May 2004, I was seeking a ghostwriter, I posted a story idea on a web site nd my e-mail address. I was contacted by Mike Canu. He explained his company and the packages that he offered to have a book written, published and marketed.

My sister, Michelle and I took every step we could to make sure this was a legitimate company, which at the time was based at 15442 E. Hampden Cir Ste 101, Aurora, CO 80013-2408. We were also directed to the company web site to read more about the company. I was also sent references from other clients.

Aug. 17, 2004 I paid by credit card to the Empty Canoe $3,500 down payment to start the process of having our book done. Aug. 30,2004, the contract was sent to us and it was reviewed by our lawyer in Sept. 2, 2004 the contract was signed by Michelle and Bonnie & Mike Canu.

We sent our info to the company at their new address 4403 Krieg Lane, Oak Harbor, WA 98277 on Sept. 2,2004. Over 2 years time and many promises from the company we still do not have a finished product.
