 On November 19th 2016 my friends and I booked a Room in our hometown of Eureka. Our plan was to have girls night "in" celebrating my birthday. While returning from dinner on Hotel property, a gunman approached us and stole my purse. The police responded immediately and we gathered in the hotel lobby to make the report. The desk clerk let us in the room to retrieve our items. We never disturb the bedding or used the bathroom in this room!! He offered to charge me just half rate. Which would have been about $75. However, a few days later I discovered that my bank had been charged the full $251.

Which included a $100 refundable deposit to be held until checkout. The hotel claims this is reasonable charge because I did not return their room key. Even though, they are fully aware and is included in the police report, that the key was stolen in my purse. I tried for 3 weeks to reason with management at the hotel. I have friends who work there and I have been informed that the night desk clerk actually witnessed the whole thing on surveillance camera. And then lied to the police about it so he wouldn't have to be involved. On top of that, ripping me off. This is too much for me to bear. These people saw opportunity to steal from me after I had already been robbed.
