I will start out this report by asking everyone to check the reviews of a place before trusting them with your belongings! Especially if they are dear to you in anyway.

I came to Palm Springs to visit my mother a few weeks ago from Arizona. We decided to go though my recently deceased grandmother's belongings, when I came across her wedding ring. A gorgeous vintage gold band with 3 diamonds set in it. My grandmother wore this ring until the day she passed even though my grandfather passed away almost 8 years ago, she refused to take it off.

My mother said that I may have it, however it was a little loose and I was concerned I may loose it. I decided I woud wait to wear it until I had it sized. Later that day, my mother and I decided to go to the mall where I came across The Exchange. Retrospectively, I wish I had taken it somewhere else. I left it with them to get sized and they said it would be a few day. When I got it back the diamonds had been switched out for what looks like glass. There was a small flaw on one of the diamonds and when I got it back they were perfect. There was not longer a tiny flaw in the diamond becuase there was no longer diamonds in the ring.

They stole the diamonds and replaced them with what looks like glass. When I asked the gentleman what happened to the flaw he said it was gone because they clean them after they size them. I did not trust it. This was the feeling I had in the pit of my stomache and I knew to listen to it. I returned home a few days ago and decided to take it to a jeweler here in Chandler. The news was unsettling. Aparently the ring only contains cubic zirconia as the gentleman mentioned.

Please do not go here. Avoid this place at all cost and please share this with everyone you know so they do not committ the same error I did.

False report

#4UPDATE Employee

This is a dishonest review as the person who posted it was related to a thief employee, dismissed for stealing jewelry.

She wrote this review to revenge the firing of her brother. I was a witness to the facts and no diamonds were ever switched.

The sister of an employee charged with a crime of grand theft wrote this fraud report on The Exchange.

This is a spiteful, false report by someone related to a dishonest past employee!

Our Jeweler is honest and well regarded in the area

This report was filed by someone related to a fired employee for stealing. Our jeweler would never change any stones presented to him. He services most jewelry stores on El Paseo and is well regarded in the area. Further, the jeweler mentioned is an independent contractor and not an employee of The Exchange.

Kevin has been in our store for over 5 years without any complaints. He is reliable and honest. This complaint is made with malice, false intention and should be disregarded as the reason for the complaint is bogus.
