I started working for this company 2 months ago.  I am a dedicated, loyal employee that takes any job seriously.  They hired me for front-end assisting.  Not rocket-science, ok?  I am 34 years old, and graduated high school with an advanced degree and have many years of college, (for a few different things), under my belt.  I have not gotten a degree in anything as of yet, and my last company folded, so I decided to work there, and hopefully move up in the company, because I feel like I can make a difference with a good employer.  Anyway, I got interviewed, everybody seemed nice, I got the job...

I did not start "management" training for a month and a half.  Why?  Because the turnover was so great, that they needed me, (and other employees from different departments, that hated up front with a passion), to be cashiers because they can't keep anybody there.  Gee, wonder why??  There are certain individuals, that get a little power, and feel they rule the world.  Sad really, because in the grand scheme of things, your little grocery store and front-end management do not equal being the most important things in the universe.  But, I digress...

Just half a week after I started management training, A wednesday, all of a sudden, (when it's so weird and would take forever to explain, another cashier's drawer came up 170 something over, plus mine short, plus the manager's short!!), that night, I'm 160.00 short in my register!!  I went to lunch, one cashier was over, I came back, the cashier was fine...hmm??  First off, let me tell you about me...I do not steal, so that is not an option to think about.  I am the type of person that FIRMLY believes in Karma.  Whatever you do, comes back twice to you.  Fate may get somebody by for a moment, but karma will bite you in the butt every time.  I don't play with that.  Anyway, I tried to ask if there was anyway that the computer could have been wrong, (well gee Cindy, the computer automatically fixed one person being $170 something over and you being short $160.00 plus the manager being short 11 something equals nowhere near that right??  Ummm...again, rocket science.)  I was automatically at fault.  They decided to blame it all on me, and demote me.

I met a lot of nice people there who are just trying to do their jobs and get paid.  I miss them.  When they decided to demote me, I quit.  It's really a shame, because I would have really liked to get in with a reputable company and move up.  I am not an idiot, and by most people's standards, I am quite well educated, (ok, not by a PHD's standards, but you get the point.)  I hate the fact that I feel like a failure due to quitting and that they got they best of me.  Bottom line is that they are a company that as long as you play retarded and go along with whatever they say, because management has been there longer than you, you will do ok.  But if anything at all happens that they can make you the scapegoat out of, well, I guess you're screwed.  Anybody with a brain need not apply.
