We are renovating our Master bathroom and had to special order a cultured marble vanity top. When the vanity top was delivered, we found out that it was 1/4 of an inch to long. We contacted The Granite Center and asked if they could cut it to the right size for us. They said they could, but that they would take no liability for any chipping or cracking that might occur during the sawing process. We agreed and brought the vanity to the store.

Our appointment was 8:00 am this Monday morning. When my husband appeared for the appointment he was told he could pick the finished counter up at the end of business
As he arrived there he was told, that The Granite Center was very sorry, but that the counter top was broke. My husband asked if it broke during sawing and the workers said they had not started to saw. According to them they were getting ready to tape it for sawing and one of them went to the bathroom.

While there he heard the second worker saying: "sh.." and when he came out of the bathroom he saw that the counter was broke. It never touched the saw. However, they don't see themselves liable for the damage due to rough handling, because my husband agreed not to hold them liable for damages during cutting. and it is just really unfortunate that it happened. The $427 vanity top is destroyed and we will have to buy a new one, because The Granite Store is not willing to take liability for any part of this act of gross negligence.
