I have a complaint with "The Hartford" Auto insurance. 11 months ago I felt that because the insurance company was recommended and affiliated with AARP that it would be a reputable company and signed with them.

I have received my renewal from The Hartford and my premium was increased 22%. I contacted their customer service department and spoke with Lori. She said their was a "state wide" increase. I asked what the State Wide increase average percentage was, and after she found out, stated it was 14%. I told her that I was 8% more than the average and thought it was unreasonable. She said that different counties had different increases. I asked if my count was 8% more dangerous "on average" than it was a year ago over the other counties. She said she didn't have any answers for that.

I feel that "The Hartford" is using "bait and switch" tactics to recruit new insurers before raising their premiums an unreasonable amount for 1 year.

If Hartford does not straighten up their act, I will switch to "GE Auto Insurance Program" that offers the same coverage for a lesser rate that I paid for "The Hartford" premium a year ago.
