The-Internet-YellowPages.com Scammed me hook, line and sinker Virginia Beach Virginia
This company calls you to confirm if your physical address is different from your billing address, asks if you are the owner or person who authorizes the payment of invoices, states that they are just confirming an invoice for service and tells you they are recording the conversation. They sound like the Yellow Pages confirming your internet Yellow Pages site, which we also have. It's that confusion that makes their scam so convincing.
Nobody, including myself, had ever authorized or agreed to their service. They sounded like they were the Yellow Pages and, as a busy executive, I didn't have the time to question what my marketing staff had probably agreed to. Unfortunately, that's how they zapped us.
When the invoice arrived, I called and questioned their bill. They played back the recording of my voice from a month or so earlier. I felt as though they had gotten me pretty good. When I complained, they said they receive over one million internet "hits" per month on their site which they said is the "internet yellow pages.com". After making sure my company name was listed under several different categories, they then adjusted my bill down from $447, which was the original quote plus a late fee, to only $400. I paid it by credit card and checked them out on RipOff.com the next day. Too late. They got me good!
