This company advertises superior quality modular housing. We purchased a Crest home from them in 2002 and have had nothing but problems. They damaged our countertops by placing saws and other tools on top of them while they were working in the home. When they were applying drywall compound to the walls, they did not put anything over our rugs and we have drywall compound and paint on our carpets. They sold us solid wood cabinents that turned out to be veneer, promised to fix walls where drywall seams have bowed out, and repair a ceiling that had severe water damage due to faulty pipes. Our basement floor is cracking severly as their workers did not prep the area (not enought re-bar) and poured too wet concrete. The outside walls of our foundation had a cement finish put on -- it was supposed to be applied 1 foot below the surface, they applied it above the surface and now it is falling off the home in chunks ! The family room section of our home did not fit together when the home was delivered and we had to wait for over 2 weeks before they got a carpenter to fix it. This room was exposed to snow and ice.

We were told the home would have R19 insulation in the exterior walls, we have found that in 2 of the upstairs bedrooms there is no insulation at all! None of the doors fit properly -- some have gaps of 5 inches under them. The kitchen entry door was not sealed properly and when it rains water comes through and into the wall -- I now have mold growing along the baseboard.

Their sales guy, Ralph Sutter, promised us all of these items would be replaced/repaired and even signed our preliminary punch list which had these items on it.
It has been 1 1/2 years and they have done nothing!!! I am in the process of hiring and will ask for money to have a contractor come in and repair/ replace / fix all these items.

Not only did I pay them over $180,000 for this house but now I will have to hire an attorney to try and get this resolved.

I filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney General's office -- they tried to get them to fix these things but they have flat out refused. DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE DISHONEST, DECEITFUL PEOPLE THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.

I HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE LANE AGENCY -- BEWARE !!!
