Nearly three months ago, I paid the online store "The Leather Merchant" for a leather jacket, then asked for a refund when I noticed the shipping charge was nearly half the price of the jacket. The store refuses to give me my money back.

I have contacted the seller 8 times asking for a refund, however the only response I have received was a promised check recently which, to date, hasn't arrived.

I have repeatedly asked the seller for a phone number but he/she will not answer that request either.

I used PayPal for the purchase, and after filing a complaint with PayPal, they deemed my complaint absolutely valid. However, the seller won't post any funds in his/her account, so PayPal won't act on my behalf to recover my payment.

The seller FINALLY provided a refund, but continues to be deceitful. Quote: "The customer's refund was sent Western Union. There is no faster way to do it...." He very convieniently omits that he took nearly THREE MONTHS to finally provide a refund, as the records easily prove with no question or doubt.

If this blatant act of omission wasn't enough, the seller totally fails to state that he refused to post ANY funds in his PayPal account to provide a means to meet his debt, many weeks BEFORE I contacted the Rip Off Report. Therefore PayPal canceled their involvement....If they have no money, they have no recourse, so they stated and summarily closed the case until he posted funds.....WHICH HE NEVER DID. Verbatim.

Which the seller, of course, didn't reveal.

It's on the with record with PayPal exactly as I state, in writing. And also For The Record, the timeline of our involvement shows clearly that he CONTINUED to ignore me for over a month until the Rip Off Report finally shamed him into respondinig in March 2006 as he should have done last December!

The seller states that he wishes I would tell the WHOLE story. Sir, honest, forthright businessmen aren't hypocrites.....Please practice what you preach.

If the seller wants to challenge the truth or validity of any or all of what's stated here, I absolutely welcome the opportunity to provide concrete, irrefutable written evidence to prove his awful customer service and reprehesible business practices in respect to our dealing. Furthermore, I will gladly do so to any and all interested parties.
