I received a letter in the mail today from The Ledbetter Research Center. This is the second kind of letter I have received like this. It looks all legit and even has a large check in it. But when I checked out the company online I find they are bogus and it's all just a scam.

Do Not deposit this check into your bank account like they ask you to do when you call them to comfirm receipt of the letter. That gives them access to all the funds in your account and they will drain your bank account dry.

Call your local police or take this letter to your police station. What this person is trying to do is against the law and they need to be arrested.

The letter on the outside is postmarked from Canada. There is a Ontario, Cananda return address on the envelope. The contents of the envelope included a Company Evaluation Sheet, an Acceptance Form and a letter from someone named Steve Portman detailing about how you've been selected to be a mystery shopper and how you need to go to Wal-mart and spend $40 and then send a MoneyGram in the amount of $3, 430 to someone named Daniel Harris.

Bottomline is this letter and check are all a scam to part you from your hard earned money.

The scammers know the bank will release the funds before the check comes back as fraudulent. They want you to send them the money before that happens.

You end up owing the bank for the bad check - in some cases you can be arrested for passing bad checks.

Once you WIRE money - its gone for good.

ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES THAT YOU WIRE MONEY IS A SCAM!
