Additional information:
"I ordered a type of laptop memory that is not compatible with my laptop (Item #310612411458) - I contacted the seller and they instructed me on the return:
"Please ship it back to us a method that can be tracked. Please ship it complete just as you have received it. Once we get the memory back we will inspect and test it again. If the memory is bad we will issue you a full refund. If it is good we will process it as a standard return with restocking fees. Sorry we didn't get back to you as quickly as you would have liked. In the future remember that we don't get your message over the weekend. So we are not ignoring you and that should help you feel more easy about the situation. Thanks! - liquidationteam"
I reapplied the stickers which I had removed and placed the memory back into the package the best I could as it was delivered and resealed the package with tape to make it, cosmetically, as close to the way I received it.
I followed the sellers instructions for completing the return and sent the product back, out of pocket for $2.95 via USPS, Tracking # 9500 1106 2909 3068 4674 51
The seller, with the returned item is now accusing me of 'tampering' which consists of the item not being in the same 'arrangement' in the package (for which the solution would be to....rearrange the item) and they claim I 'tampered' with the memory by the stickers on the memory being removed.
However the actual model number of the memory is printed onto the memory and cannot be changed regardless of whether they stickers were removed or not. Furthermore, they made no condition in their messaging that if the 'stickers were removed' that it could not be returned.
I am now being denied a refund, even though I have followed the sellers instructions. The seller has also taken a confrontational and threatening position with me:
"Dear edxs, Hi, we received the Memory Back, unfortunately we will not be able to give you a refund. The memory has been blatantly tampered with, the labels on the memory that you sent us back are not in the same position as when we shipped the memory out to you and one of the labels is upside down. It looks as if the tags were pulled off of the moemory we sent you and stuck to this memory. If you would like to open a case with Ebay that is your right but we have proof of the tampering, also if needed we will prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to protect ourselfs, our ebay store and, our feedback. - liquidationteam"
All I want is my refund for the product which I returned following the sellers instructions to the best of my ability. It is clear that they are taking advantage of me and looking for a way to rip me off."You've requested:A refund. The refund amount includes the purchase price plus original shipping.

This buyer bought laptop memory from us on eBay. We memory we shipped to them was tested and verified to be good, passed all tests. After the buyer received the memory they contacted us informing us that the memory moduels didnt' work. So we authorized them the buyer to return the memory for a refund. However once the memory modules were received back from this buyer we found that the buyer shipped back to us 2GB DDR3 modueles instead of the 8GB modules that we sent to them. They peeled the memory labels off the original memory modules that they bought from us, stuck them on their older and smaller sized memory modules and shipped them back to us. I guess they figured they could get a free upgrade on us.
We provided all the evidence to eBay and eBay sided with us on the case. EBay decided that the buyer was not entitled to a refund and we agreed with eBay completely. Because the buyer didn't successfully steal from us they are trying to smear our name and reputation. The facts prove our honesty in the matter and dishonesty from the buyer.
