If you are planning to put a loved one in the Lutheran Home Assisted Living Facility, please reconsider this decision. They do not put any extra effort into helping a new resident acclimate to the home. Once the new resident has signed all the papers and moved in the Home, the staff members including nurses, social workers, and mangement do NOTHING to help the newbie adjust to their environment.

Senior citizens have enough difficulty with losing their independence; this facility just goes about their business and do not give newly-admitted residents any special attention or aid. If a problem arises with the resident having adjustment issues, they don't want to work with them and just say, "we're not that type of facility...we can't watch them all the time." I find this incredibly rude, not to mention highly incompetent!

The Lutheran Home has grown too big to provide personalized assistance to residents. There are other Assisted Living Homes in the Cape Girardeau area who will bend over backwards to help their patients, giving them one-on -one attention. An Americare facility is highly preferable to this monkey house.
