The Maids were hired to clean my house twice a month. They guaranteed if you were not satisfied call withen 24 hours and they would re-clean at no additional charge. They serviced my house for almost two years. Other then arriving late to clean several times, we had no problems and never complained.

Sometime in early August late July 2005. The quality of work fell way off. The crews arrived shorthanded. They were not getting the place clean. My wife called to complain about this. The person she spoke with identified himself as Jerry the Owner. She explained her dissapointment in the quality of service. Jerry's only response was that he had people out sick or on vacation. His crews were shorthanded.

They were not going to follow their nationally advertised guarantee. They did not offer to re-clean my house, nor did any one return to address the problem areas.

In Early Sept 2005, we started seeing damage to one of the chairs in the living room. We surmised that the cleaning crew's vacuum hose was tearing the chair as the ribbed portion was slid past the edge. On September 27, 2005, we left a note asking the cleaning crews to be aware of this.

Unfortunately, my daughter arrived home from school and was confronted by the Cleaning Crew. They proceeded to show her very agressively that they were not the cause of the damage. She was caught off guard. She was not aware that we had left a note. She was very upset. This was the only response we received concerning this.

On October 10, 2005, my wife left another note asking them to please call her to discuss the damage. They called her and were very rude. They insisted that it was not their equipment. They had even pulled out our vacuum too try and show how we were doing it ourselves. This upset my wife. They were not supposed to be going through our closets. The lead cleaner became very abrasive and loud. My wife told her that since they were there to go ahead and finish cleaning the house but to leave the house key when they left. She had felt the quality of cleaning had fallen off and did not appreciate her attitude. The cleaner said she was not going to clean the house. This was fine, just leave the key.

When we arrived home, they had destroyed some Halloween decorations on the front porch. They had also turned every light on in the house.

I called this day and spoke with a Jerry. He claimed to be the owner. This Jerry was about as RUDE as you could be. I told him I was upset that they had confronted my daughter with issues that I should have been called on. He said that they assumed that people that lived in the same house discussed these issues. He did not see any problem with the crews responding to her about an issue that we had left a note on. I told him that my wife was upset they had gone into our closets to find our vacuum. He told me I was being ANUL. It was at this point I felt I was wasting my time. I told him this. He proceeded to explain to me that I did not know how business worked. He began to explain to me how he has had To "fire customers before". My response was one of disbelief. I could not believe the way he was talking to me. It was obvious that we could not work this out. I did not need their services.

I can certainly see where the employees get their attitude toward the customers. I would not recommend this company.

I hope as the QA Manager in Knoxville you would pass this information on to "THE MAIDS" Headquarters. I sent them an e-mail and received no response. Their WEB Site is more concerned about selling franchises then making sure the franchises are being run properly. My guess is they will do nothing. Just as they did for me.
I currently use a different company called MERRY MAIDS. I would reccomend them over "THE MAIDS" any day. They actualy respond to any concerns, and take care of them ASAP. I was actually having a conversation with an employee of my new service. It seems they picked up many new customers from "THE MAIDS".

The Maids company that I work for would have gone over backwards to make this customer feel like she was a customer. Dont take one comment from the maids in this complaint as a response from all the different franchises of the maids. Our employees work hard to please their customers, and want to help them with the cleaning of the home. I am sorry that this customer had such a bad experience with The Maids, and hope in the future that she can trust another maids company to work in her home. A customers trust is the most important thing that you can have to have a successful company, This is why i work for the maids and maybe the company that caused this problem will realize this to be the truth.
