Complaint Review: The Masonry Doctor

The Masonry Doctor installed a patio behind my house in 2004.

At the time of installation Carlton Merriam (the owner of The Masonry Doctor) told me that bricks come loose from time to time because of the weather and other things. He also said he would glue down any loose
bricks for as long as I was in the house. A third party was there when he told me that. Every spring since the patio was installed there have been loose bricks
and every spring Carlton Merriam has come out to the house to re-glue the bricks ... until this year (2008).

I called in mid-June to tell Carlton about a couple of loose bricks. And I re-called every two weeks through the beginning of August. Every time I called (except for the last) I called his office and left a voice mail message. I never heard back. The last time I called in the beginning of August I spoke with Carlton on his cell phone. He told me he would come out when he had other work out my way. My house is 7 or 8 miles west of his office.

In mid-October when he still hadn't re-glued the bricks I called Carlton on his cell phone one more time. He immediately got an attitude with me. When I asked him when he was going to re-glue the bricks he said when
he got some other work out my way. When I said the loose bricks were dangerous he didn't care. I reminded him that when he installed the patio he told me he would always fix loose bricks and he responded by saying that he would have never said that. When I told him that there was a third party present he asked me if I had it in writing.

So, the words of Carlton Merriam of The Masonry Doctor mean nothing.
