So a couple of months ago I ran a Daily Deal with those guys (Im a regional sales manager
for a top 4 Daily Deal/Coupon website).   These guys contacted me and said they have to offer
several top resorts for about 60%-70% off.  Well I should have known right than something
is off, but Ive listened.  Now my team & were in charge of the travel section of the website and we ran maybe 30 deals in the past year but those guys, by far this was the worst experience. To
work with them.  So they tell me they can provide 5 star resorts in Mexico & the entire Caribbean for a funny price as part of the tourism effort. and they fax me letters from the resorts, upon my request, showing they have permission to sell rooms there.  I said Ok.
And then they promise me there is ABSOLUTELY no Time Share involved. Not even a smell of it.
FAT LIE! Our customer service team had a hell of a time with the complaints and
we had to refund almost $3000. And then they had the nerve to argue with us
about it.

So anyway,we ran the deal and it looks beautiful on paper: the resort is ocean front ,
brand new,  all the dates are available,Est.  A dream.  And then the chaos begins : Costumers start bombarding our CS people with emails, saying their phones dont work and no one answers their email. People cant get a confirmation from the resort, and it's tow days before they fly in,
and so on. So I call the guys cell phone,  Jean Marie Theriault, which previously told me
he's the owner of the company and that he's been in this business for 25 years
hahahaha (here comes an arrogant chuckle), and he tells me his out of town
but as far as he knows everything is fine and the phones are working fine, and then
he asks me to wait, and than contact his partner, Alex ramos, who's completely useless and avoids my calls,  than they tell theres a problem, because of the rains, but theyre working
on it,  long story short  2 days later the phones are working again. They gave me some story about the hurricane season, whatever.

And the costumers start complaining again that they cant get their dates confirmed, sales people are calling them up and asking them questions about their income, whether they own a house or not and then being told its  Absolutely Crucial information and without it  their reservations won't be confirmed.
My CMO bought 2 deals for his girlfriend and her parents and canceled them both because of this privacy invasion. A complete nightmare.

Tow solid weeks of that s**t, and my boss is on my case, why havent I checked better who those people were before I signed them.  Through all this Im almost daily on the phone with those tow clowns and their department of sales people ,sweet girls or brain dead girls depends on the time of day your calling and Rod, the customer service manager.

h*o, Man, can I tell you about "Rod",   that will take another 2 pages.. Let's just say that  to let someone answer the phone costumer service hello is really not enough and especially a grumpy old grandpa.  I could see why our client base was getting agitated.

So on one of those calls, they put me on hold but Im not really hearing music, instead Im
listing to whats going on there, 2 girls talking about a job interview and how
if one more time they get paid late shes quitting.. And this from a guy that
told me hes company sold $100,000 in travel deals
in the last 6 months.  LIES! (They don't know I speak Spanish).  Anyways, Ive started digging about this outfit and came up with Ripoff reports (look for SunmexTravel), dead websites, negative reviews
on TripAdvisor, and the lies I caught them telling:  Jean Marie first told me that they have a
contract with LivingSocial and theyre scheduled to run a deal there before
Christmas- Lie! Ive checked and LivingSocial rejected them. Never had anything
to do with them.

The worst part is that their employees kept changing, like  2 supervisors, all of the phone people and the marketing person. Now what does that tell you?

And now,
last week, I got another call form yet a new member of the team asking me if well
be interested in running another deal with them. Telling me they have New Management
and naming some other guy. I said No Way! Hell No.

Be wear of this company, they cost us money, time and unsatisfied customers.  They are less than honest & open in their practice. My girlfriend and I suffered a significant loss our pay check due to
the fact we have bonuses for performance and needless to say, no one got bonuses
for this deal).

Do not waste your time, money and valuable costumers
on
this company and their Fraudulent offers. Stay away!

I am one of the travelers affected by the fine print. Turns out, the fine print that Mexico Travel Company uses was NOT the one our Daily Deal website used on our promotion.  The T&C of the Mexico company say were supposed to be over 28 years of age and both of us are not.  We complained and threatened them with negative posts and they let us have our trip but clearly, the problem began when we were given the T&C switch-a-roo. The people at the Mexico center were getting irate callers with different rules and we picked up they were overwhelmed, tired and afraid they might say the wrong thing so we kinda used it to our favor.

Just the facts, Mam , just the facts.  I been wanting to respond to this ad before but when I saw your same post at another complaint site, I wanted to state my rebuttal, to keep a level playing field. First: If you were so hurt and have the proof, why do you hide your name? Second: Why dont you mention your daily deal website name?  Why only theirs? Isnt it fair to ask?  Your tone is vindictive and not convincing

Every great vacation at a 4-5-star resort sold at a deep discount has a catch and there are Terms & Conditions in order to qualify for the promotion. Each hotel has their own rules some dont care if you mention their brand, others prohibit. But most are upscale and do not want an empty room but the last thing they need is a Daily Deal website with teenage demographics sending travelers with little buying power they cannot afford a breakfast, wreck the room, play load music till 3am and walk around drunk half naked upsetting the rest of the tourists who paid top dollar to relax.  Thats why the hotels place the conditions...not the company doing the customer service and reservations

The Terms and Conditions are very explicit for the buyer to read BEFORE they purchase and there is a section by every legitimate daily deal website for Fine Print. Before you run a promotion, it must be approved by the organization receiving the calls from your buyers PRIOR to launching and which you do not mention in your post.  When you are in charge of the travel section of a daily deal website as you state you are/were, it is your responsibility and duty to conduct Due Diligence BEFORE you sign a contract on behalf of your company representing your clients and check out the company offering a deal too good to be true as you described, call the hotel, fly down to meet them, etc. but you didnt and instead went along with the deal motivated by greed and profit to meet your bonus commissions.  Then when there is a problem with the fine print you want to step aside and blame others and no wonder your boss is upset at you. He knows you are as much to blame.

As you know, your website caters to a young demographic, and now your problem is that most nice hotels running deals with you are cutting you off because most of your buyers do not qualify for the promotions and have low buying power and when they do travel, they are the ones that complain/ and have most free time to post negative stuff because they are computer savvy verses a more mature 50+ generation.

Its just the way it is.  It is human nature for you to be upset when you disappoint your girlfriend. Most of the high-end promotions cater to married mature couples who might even be capable to purchase an opportunity at Disney, Vegas, Bahamas or Mexico.  I am not a traveler with this company, but I know your daily deal business and I was motivated to write this post after reading yours, so typical of pointing a finger and have 3 point back to you.
