The Movers Group American eagle movers RIP OFF Hallandale , Florida
I was moving from Miami, FL to Bakersfield, CA. Sales person gave me a quote of $850 to move a couple of small boxes and a drum set (already packed), the space must have been no more than 6 feet wide, by 5 feet tall and 8 feet long. Could fit half of a regular bathroom. I thought the quote was quite high but it was last minute so I said why not. Upon arrival, they loaded the truck as scheduled and once everything was ready to go, they sky rocketed the price to $2,200. Once I threatened to cancel the contract and for them to bring everything down, they brought the price down to $1,700. I argued with the person (Geo) and after a long 45 minutes it was going nowhere, I had no other company as backup for the move, and I was scheduled to leave to the airport that next morning at 5am. With no time for last minute deals, I gave in (bad choice!!!!!!!!) Then when I read the contract he wrote $1,795. I looked at him and told him wtf!!! and he said "Thats the price I gave you, I never said $1,700 I said $1,795 At this moment I was so frustrated with the whole moving that I just wanted him out of my apt. I signed and prayed to GOD! After waiting 2 weeks with no response, I started calling and calling no one would answer anything, once they did after the 17th call. Their customer service was clueless and unhelpfull. They kept transferring me to voice messages and after days of waiting no one would return calls. I started calling from a different number, and lo and behold! someone answered. Geo this time, the dispatch was also clueless of when my stuff would arrive. He could get in contact with the truck, and when I asked him if they used their own trucks, he confirmed YES. After a month, my stuff finally arrived, I asked the driver if he was with the movers group and he said no. He was a private company (which was his own) and the movers group sold him the job, as they did with all their jobs. These people are liars and will take your money and then make you go through hell worrying if your belongings are going to make it or not. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

AMERICAN EAGLE MOVERS is a Florida based moving and storage company that performs thousands of moves each year both locally and out of state and never once brokers their moves to anyone! This consumer complaint is for a company called The Movers Group in Hallandale which we never heard of and this same complaint is listed twice here on the ripoff report as 2 separate complaints and accidently included the good name of AMERICAN EAGLE MOVERS which is not a part of this complaint in any way and has no affiliation with the company the movers group in any way. All moves booked with American Eagle Movers are performed by them in all aspects. American Eagle Movers never performed this move nor do we have a dispatcher named Geo, nor do we broker moves. If the consumer who made this complaint would please call 954-571-7821 and ask for either Rob, Steve, Buck or Jake in operations department we would be happy to tell you how to proceed with with your complaint against the movers group. I never heard of the movers group they may be a broker or a new business! Bottom Line is AMERICAN EAGLE MOVERS did not perform this move, did not sell this move, never spoke to this customer complaining!
