I've recently been ripped off by a company that referred me to this site. Funny huh. This company was real quick to take my belongings and discredit other companies but truth is there is validity to their negative BBB rating.

This site did nothing for me because I still went with The Moving World because they weren't listed. I asked all the right questions; instead of bad mouthing one of their competitors the other company I had spoken to actually educated me on what to ask to avoid a problem like this ( I should have stuck with them) . I guess if you don't ask they don't tell.

I was moving my husband, myself and my brand new baby. I asked very specifically what my charges would be and was told that 3000 lbs would be 2200.00 comes to find out this did not include the extra packing I asked for or the weight of my boxes. My final price ended up grossly over the amount I was promised and the response has been, "well we gave you paperwork stating
3400 lbs and you are responsible for packing", even though the Sales agent told me otherwise.

DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY I will do my best to avoid this happening to anyone else. This nightmare is the last thing we needed and we had to pay these additional fees to get our baby's crib so we didn't have a choice. Go here and read there is truth to the BBB's report. (go to the bbb.com and do a company search for The Moving World in Colorado, and their report will come up.

I am sure there are a lot of people who have been ripped off by this company, reply to this posting and if there is anyone else out there, please don't be afraid to expose this company for who they really are! I will be spending a lot of time posting this message everywhere I can to make sure that nobody goes through what I recently went thorugh. I am shocked that when I checked this sites black list that they are not listed......

I can't believe this

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

Since my "report", we have received additional information that would tell us that we should not necessarily be afraid of The Moving World company.

I do not want to unfairly say anything, and it looks like some of what I have thought is based on our lack of understanding regarding all the facts. We of course do not have any knowledge of whatever problems anyone has ever had with them, but we must say that, based on the kind and thoughtful representation that we have gotten from them, it may be well worth the customer's time to at least check them out.

This just goes to show that what one reads, or whatever first impression one gets, is not necessarily what is the truth. I would say, at least check them out, and find out if there is anything to be concerned about.

There are always circumstances involved, and what someone here or there experiences may not be all there is to it. Possibly there are those out there who have actually gone with this company and have had great experiences.

We are currently in the process of searching for the best deal from a moving company. Turns out, we are seeing that we might as well go with the company we hired for our last two moves, even though they were more expensive than those that we are hearing from now.

In our search, we got a response from, among others, The Moving World. The complaint from this person in Miami, FL is too much like what I already experienced from The Moving World. In just the phone call that we received, after being told that they needed a list of our belongings, I told the woman the estimated weight of our load. Then I was asked who else we had received quotes from. After the first one I mentioned, she immediately told me to watch out, that that company is on a blacklist of fraudulent movers, and she directed me to the website. She also told me that we should not go with self-movers and that companies that charge by cubic foot are okay. I since learned from websites that what she said about these things are not true.

When I looked up the website with the blacklist, of course The Moving World was not listed. But as I continued searching, I discovered that this company does have a poor report with the BBB.

What I find interesting and hard to ignore, is that, first, what this consumer in FL was told is exactly what I was told. Makes me wonder if this is a script that the sales people at the company read off.

Secondly, the woman at The Moving World kept telling me that she could do much better than that. That was fine, but first she let me know that she could only give me an estimate. By the end of the conversation she told me that her quote, which was $900 less than the other company that is blacklisted, is definite. We do not see that anyone can give a definite quote without coming out in person and taking inventory of what is being moved. Then, after I faxed her the quote from the other company, she emailed us her quote, and had even lowered it another $100. That initially sounded great, but then I noticed that the packing materials that were mentioned on the quote from the other company were not mentioned on her quote. Only 4 mattress boxes were mentioned.

Lastly, she told me things that, in retrospect, did not make sense, and were contradictions to all that we have been told in our experience with movers. All these things are too much to go into, but everything raises a red flag to us.

So, while I cannot say from personal moving experience that this company is fraudulent, we do have our doubts, and that is enough to tell us we should go elsewhere. The moving company we went with on two other moves was significantly more expensive, but we had no problems with them.

I've been searching for information on movers and have noticed this very same message on several boards, all claiming that The Moving World recommended that particular site.

I wonder if its a valid complaint or a smear campaign by competitors?

I haven't done any business with them yet, but the fact that so many people are making ad hominem attacks against them, I think I will.
