The Old Malvern Firehouse Andrews Management no insulation in bldg; u can hear everthing thru floors and walls; steady retail traffic from rug store on premises Malvern, Pennsylvania
There is no insulation in the building, so you can hear
everything through the floors and walls. Three men, including the owner, work
at the rug store underneath the apartment. There is constant retail traffic on
the property, so there is loud noise from customers, store music, hanging
tapestries, and screaming kids running up and down the halls: the owners
children. One of the men who works there told me that he can hear me going to
the bathroom in the apartment above. What a gentleman!
If you do not believe me about the lack of
insulation, ask the owner (when she shows the apartment) to let you call her
while shes in the rug store below, and you will hear her cell phone ringing
through the floor boards. Many times the men below argue, and its scary. Take
a peek in the store, and ask yourself, do you want to live above them. And just
how quiet do you expect a rug store to be when they are constantly hanging rugs
and tapestries. When the rug store has a special event, there is even more
noise and lack of parking. The building owner and the rug store owner are
friends, so dont believe anything the rug store owner or his lackeys say.
Tell Andrews Management that you want to see the
apartment when all three men are working in the rug store. Otherwise, theyll
show it to you when the nerdy owner is there. Dont be fooled. Ive heard his
temper on many occasions.
The rent is over priced at $2,000/mo for Malvern
Borough. I mean, seriously. I was an out-of- towner and was duped. The area is
low income and boring. If you have packages delivered, they will probably be
stolen while you are at work. Look at the price of the full service buildings
in the area, and then youll have a clear idea of the rip off in the price of
this apartment.
Oh, and if you like hot water. Look elsewhere.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO LIVE IN AN APARTMENT BUILDING WITH RETAIL/COMMERCIAL SPACES ON THE PROPERTY? I FACED STRANGERS EVERY DAY I LIVED THERE, AND IT WAS VERY SCARY.
I rented the apartment over the phone and was told that there were no retail spaces on the premises. I was shocked to see the LARGE retail space when I moved in.
THE PROPERTY IS TINY. NO ONE WANTS RETAIL FOOT TRAFFIC IN YOUR FACE EVERYDAY. AND IF YOU'RE A BUSINESS OWNER, DO YOU REALLY WANT RESIDENTS COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS EVERYDAY? AFTER ALL, BUSINESSES MAKE A LOT OF NOISE.
