Complaint Review: The Original Door & Window Super Store

If you wish to avoid being caught in a home remodeling scam, then don't patronize The Original Door & Window Super Store which have 3 stores in the Chicago Area.
I am very reluctant to talk badly about local companies but I must make an exception in this case.

I had purchased some doors and windows from this company and had planned to install them myself. I gave very precise measurements and specifications to the salesperson.

When I picked up the merchandise I thought that some of the doors and windows did not look exactly like the items I thought I was ordering. About a week later I started the process of installing the items. To my chagrin, it turned out that indeed doors and windows were not the proper size or exactly the style that I had ordered.

This place sure does not have a return policy like any decent home center would. As a matter of fact they claimed that the doors and windows were all damaged and that they would not give me a penny for them! The items were in good condition and they could have resold them easily. What kind of a return policy is this? Since my problems surfaced I have noticed that there are other complaints on file with the Better Business Bureau on this company. I sure wish I had checked this place out more thoroughly before I ordered.
